luvyuu,

In small amounts, as in baked goods, not known to be a problem. In large amounts, could cause problems for stomach acid production, and all the successive problems that would bring.

I have never come across any logical argument for taking baking soda internally--that is, not as a food ingredient--for any disorder. There is some confusion about experimental alkali infusions as a cancer protocol(such as those of Tullio Simoncini in Italy), and alkali taken as a supplement. But of course, these are not the same thing, and the latter cannot be substituted for the former, or anything else like it.
