Laid Back

I have question, since going raw/vegan, I have noticed I am more laid back and probably this is a good thing. However, one of my friends said it is not my "personality" and she feels that you cannot be laid back and successful.

I was kind of annoyed by this.. but wanted to hear thoughts.

I do think she is right, I like stress to a point. I actually need it to be productive, but when I am on vegan/raw, I seem to be less motivated to do things or maintain the high stress.

thoughts?

I noticed the exact same thing - I became more laid back, relaxed and it felt great. I personally feel it has helped me in my business.

My feeling on this is that many people become jealous of the "new you" because you are taking steps to "better" yourself, while they want to remain in the same state as they are.

Friends, and family especially, will often try to sabotage your efforts with little digs and comments.

I don't know about your friend's advice, if she is sincere or not, only you can tell that. I'm just mentioning this as it has been addressed in the past on here & other forums and is a common occurrence when a person changes their lifestyle for the better.

This is true, I think the lady has some issues in general. But, I cant worry about her, all I can do is try to feel my best. I noticed all my low carb- meat eating friends are telling me that being vegan is not for me. They have even said that this is why my teeth are in bad condition...of course, I then start to question everything which is annoying.

I totally think I can be productive and successful as a professor in the field of rehabilitation psychology and I think being vegan will actually help me to deal with this stressful program.

Thank you for the support.

One meal at a time is all I can focus on right now. Then, I feel better.smiling smiley

it is entirely possible and most definitely more desirable to be at greater ease and reach one's goals rather than be stressed out

its like taking out a kink in a garden hose

it allows the water to reach its destination ( a field of flowers, plants etc.)

best of luck to you

Funny stress has the opposite effect on me. When I get stressed I withdraw and lack motivation. When things are sailing smoothly it energizes me and my creativeness heightens

I hate stress lol

Gimme laid back any day grinning smiley

I think I have alot of energy and just need to channel it in the right places. Most of my friends say I am laid back, but I am very productive and get things done with all the energy.

However,I have been exhausted the last few days...sad smiley Hope it goes away soon.

also, I think it is how we define laid back.

Great post, jgunn. Same for me; I've never found stress or fear to be a great motivator...I prefer smooth sailing as well. smiling smiley

Everyone of my friends said they would consider me laid back.. and easy going. I think it is interesting because I always thought of myself as high-strung NewYorker who is always on the go.

I guess someone could be laid back but still have alot of energy. Anyhow, the raw style has helped me to be more relaxed with who I am.
