Date: June 22, 2013 05:09AM saw this article on a plant that "eats" sheep
i thought to myself: creepy ingenious! creepy ingenious! my question is: really? wow! fascinating... the phrase that struck me was " its favorite fertilizer" that is what i would call a SENTIENT plant what is it about sheep though that would make them go so near them as to impale themselves upon them wouldn't other animals not go anywhere near them why sheep? anyhow, i guess when a person is called a "sheep", it is not a compliment but sheep are so gentle i think that must be worthy of some merit anyhow, enjoy the article and the photos of this ultra freaky "intelligent" plant lastly do plants have consciousness? all i know is that i borrow theirs every time i eat them maybe we should be called "plant eating humans" LOL And, here is an article I found in some little crevasse located on the surface of my dragon fruit (also known as "pithaya" ( or somethin like that)... all the rage at jamba juice "Strange sighting of the plant eating humans have been found on the rawfoods.com site. A disproportinate number of the members eat a disproportionately high amount of plants posing a direct threat to plant life ( except for those who farm as well" anyhoo... enough silliness seriousness is in order ! ( scowl on my face.. furrowed brows) read about this shark like plant!! [www.upi.com] Re: sheep eating plant ... whoahhh!?.. really? what?

[images.search.yahoo.com] all i can say is that if you find yourself ( for whatever reason) playing soccer in a field that has a lot of these things, best just mosy yourself out to another field or maybe the "elite" soccer athletes can come up with a new game where they play soccer while simultaneously using these plants like some sort of a labyrinth the point is not to just kick the soccer ball into the goal but to also avoid getting killed if a member of the opposing team gets maimed or killed then they lose yeah, a bit draconian i could see them playing this game in... say.. the roman times or something like that heck, maybe i shouldn't even have written this this world is getting crazier by the second who knows what strange ideas people get in their heads i just saw an image of higher order aliens programming people to play sheep eating plant soccer the way some people make rooster fight and make bets ummm... maybe i ate too much fruit today ( its the sugar) i better lay off the mangoes i hear they are secretly steamed anyways yeah, that must be what's making me think such crazy things Re: sheep eating plant ... whoahhh!?.. really? what?

Date: June 28, 2013 02:40PM Thanks Veronique, a very interesting plant. But I think the pointed leaves are just meant to keep animals away. Domestic sheep are bred to be so dumb, clumsy, and spiritless that some of them fall in. No wild animal would so succumb.
For instance the Agave and Yucca (also called Spanish Bayonet) have deadly pointed leaves like the Puya but I've never seen any evidence of animal death on any of the 1000s I've seen. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
