Date: June 24, 2013 02:23PM ok, kind of personal but I've noticed since going raw that when I eat greens...which I do every day, I have a lot of smelly gas AND my @#$%& smells like what I ate. Yeah, it's gross, I know.
I've been on the diet for 25 days straight now. Could this be a sign that I am not digesting the food properly? I do have poor digestion symptoms. Is this just a phase for the first couple of months or are there things I should be doing to aid digestion? !!thanks for bearing with me Re: @#$%&. literally :/

Gas is not good. It's a big obvious sign that something is wrong. We may have all been de-sensitized to the issue with fart jokes and laughter, but indigestion is a real problem with real consequences. I juice my veggies & greens with a manual auger-type, and have never had gas issues. (even when combining many ingredients) I'm a big believer in mono-meals, but have been cheating lately with my new juicer. I sometimes throw Kale, Romaine, Parsley & oregeno all together in one juice, again having no gas problems at all. (all fresh organic & local) But if I eat a plate of greens & vegetables whole, with a variety of different kinds.. You can bet I will have gas. Try an elimination diet test maybe? See if it's all greens or just a certain one that is triggering your issues. And good luck! Re: @#$%&. literally :/

The bad smelling stools could be old meat and dairy coming out. l remember when l went 100% raw - my stools were odorless, but when they smelled foul and sour [on the odd occasion] l knew it was old dairy products coming out. Lots of gas could be for many reasons = poor digestion and/or cleansing reactions. l can't image digestive enzymes will always help if you are eating certain foods like sprouted grain and beans because some of those proteins are simply not digestable. But sometimes digestive enzymes will work wonders...depends on the person and the food they eat. What are you eating? Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/05/2013 03:09AM by The Sproutarian Man. Some could be lectins (in some grains), ribulose 1 5-bisphosphate carboxylase (in leaves), gluten (in some grains), arcelin, canatoxin (in some beans), urease and probably many others. l think that ribosome might be another one. www.thesproutarian.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
