Yes, that list is a very simplified way to view things. Raw foodism can go in processes and different things apply to a person's situation. What may not initially work can work down the track.

Calories do matter = that depends on many factors

Don't need to drink water = that depends on many factors

Can fast to health = that depends on many factors

This type of thing is `raw food 101' talk. It is not as well defined as the fellow thinks it is. Lots of variables need to be taken into account.

There are certain raw food diets that are needed for certain stages in a person's life. It is not a one philosophy fits all. If you subscribe to such a fixed narrow view of raw foods then you might be in for a real wake-up call down the track.

Is it true that this fellow is now talking about cooked foods and is not ruling out the possibility of including cooked foods in his diet? It is hard to do 100% raw well.

Calories do matter. Some factors which seem to make calories important:

* starting out on a raw diet
* eating non fresh food
* eating non nutritious foods
* eating non fermented foods and not having good levels of bacteria in the body
* not being enlightened

Need to drink water.

* If you eat lots of unripe fruit high in tannins you will probably need to drink lots of water.
* If you eat lots of low water content foods you may also need to drink lots of water
* If you exercise alot you would need more water
* Imo, if you drink poorly absorbed water (most water) you may fall into the habit of drinking lots of water. Are we really water drinkers? I don't think so. I hardly ever drink any, but l want to start a detox program of distilled water soon.

Can fast to health.

* People can, and it dpends on the type of fast and for how long, but they need to be at a certain level to make long term fasting work well. If you are deficient it would probably work against you. Best to eat the nutritious foods with high bio-availability of nutrients over time so the body is built up, and eventually cut down the calories as your body guides you and still sustain weight, and then try a long fast when the body and spirit is ready to take advantage of such a thing.

Nothing is black and white, many factors to take into account. Above is just a basic ramble.
