I've been there, that place rocks! There was another thread about Chicargo raw food places to eat which has more details.

Definately check it out if you can. I think Sundays are a good day to visit since they have a buffette and you can try many different dishes. Yummmmmy, hopeful i'll make it out to Karyn's sometime soon.

Cheers,
Ian.

I just did a search and for some reason can't find anything..... was it a long time ago? What's the time frame. I'd love to have the resource of knowing where all the raw places are!

Thanks!

Not really.....I lived there for a few years, but then I moved to Phoenix. I love Chicago. My best friend is still there, so I am going to visit her for a weekend.

I live in chicago. Karyn's great, it is a lil pricey. It is the main place to get raw altho there are a couple other places that are raw or have some raw items on the menu.

For a raw restaurant to last it must be good, really good, in Miami here they are all flash in the pan.

I went to Karyn's today and picked up some good things!

I have to say that the carob & walnut brownies are amazing!!!

I bought a few things to try over the week. This is so great!

YUM!

so true.
i'm probably about half her age and i think she looks really good.

the only thing that bugs me about that place is that they put honey in a lot (all?) of their desserts and claim to be a vegan establishment.

has anyone been to cousin's?

The dinner me and my friend had there was amazing! I was a bit worried because it was a Friday night, and there were only two other tables there, but we gave it a try anyways and we were so glad that we did. It was absoultely delicious!! The guacamole was so good. And the little ravioli's were so flavorful and wonderful. My best friend is not vegan, nor has she tried any raw food dishes, but she loved it.

wait - I thought honey is vegan? As long as you get it in the raw form?

Please advise!

Oh wow - thanks for the info. I wonder why she serves desserts with honey then?

But then again - Everything I've had from there so far hasn't had honey in it - so perhaps it is only certian items? The carob brownies didn't have it....

Maybe I'll ask next time I visit.

Ok, I just ate the hummus I bought yesterday -

I got assulted by so much garlic, I don't know if I can talk to anyone here at work.

I like garlic but - wow! Seriously needs to cut back to make this edible.

I had some people at my office try it (not knowing it was raw) and they almost cried from the garlic. Needless to say - my garbage can had a very garlicly raw lunch!

Please avoid this at all costs when going to Karyn's!
