Consumption of kombucha scoby

Date: December 24, 2013 05:22AM I have way too many kombucha scobies kicking around and I had read a while ago that you can consume the scoby. I don't actually know if there is any nutritional value in the scoby but I guess I'm able to add them to smoothies to add some sweetness.
My question is this; Can I chop the scobies up and freeze them? Just so I can grab a chunk and throw it in to a smoothie on the fly? Has anybody else frozen their scobies to do something similar? As I said, I have so many and I'm running out of room to keep them. I have a scoby that is 7 inches across and 3 inches thick. It's getting ridiculous LOL! Re: Consumption of kombucha scoby

Date: December 24, 2013 11:07AM I've heard of people adding them to smoothies, and dehydrating them (marinating first in a sweetener, to make a kind of candy). Apparently dogs like them And they are good on your compost. I would imagine they would freeze no problem - might lose some nutrients though.
