stainless steel thermos ... toxicity

purportedly stuff made out of stainless steel have nickel embedded in them
and i hear that nickel is worse than mercury

any tips on thermos that do not leach toxic stuff

suez mentioned an incident with stanely thermos flaking off

is there anyone that has a better idea on transporting juices/smoothies

i guess glass is alright though the problem is

every time i drink my juices/smoothies from those things

evveryone sees that it is green

and sooner or later, they start coming up to me and asking questions

about me , what's your diet?, fitness regimen? nutrition questions... etc. its non stop and all i wanted to do was drink my stuff in peace

but if the container is opaque then i'd be happy if they made assumptions that i was drinking coffee or vodka even... then, i could be left alone smiling smiley

speaking of such matters, also does anyone know of a teapot or any other such devices that are TRULY non toxic

on occasion, esp. when it gets cold, i like to drink chamomile or rooibos tea but i can't help thinking of all the stuff that are in "stainless steel" pots (like nickel etc.) even glass ceramics stuff i researched were sprayed with titanium dioxide etc. and i don't know if the teapots are any better than just clay sprayed with chemicals for "glaze"

like aluminum, nickel, you name it

has anyone hunkered down and done any research on TRULY non toxic thermos

and something i can heat up my water in that is not toxic

It's hard to find glass insulated thermoses without plastic exterior but maybe these will help:

These folks have a couple of glass insulated thermoses with both stainless steel and plastic exteriors.

Unfortunately these are all plastic exteriors with glass insulators.

Glass tea pot are great. I have one, but rarely use it. I don't think these are stove top though. I know there is a stove top safe teapot, but can't find it.

Here it is. Its a kettle:

I just use quart Mason jars. I wrap them in packing bubble wrap and a ziplock bag in my purse for travel. Sure people ask but if you eat around the same people all the time it can become a point of very short chit chat the way I do it. For me the answer to the question "what is that" for anything green is "pond scum". For dark drinks with shilajit in them the answer is "dirt from the Himalayan mountains". For some reason nobody says "yes" when I ask them if they want a sip or if they want to switch lunches. They usually quickly back off. I don't mind the questions though. I just have fun with it.

Pyrex makes a ceramic "mug" with a plastic lid that it probably for extra gravy or whatever. I used it as a mug although I can't vouch on its leak-proof quality.
