there was a story about a man who was really scared of spiders
he didn't want to go anywhere near them
and he would also kill them
every time he went somewhere ( or anywhere around his house)
he would see spiders
non stop

one day, he ( i don't know how exactly) saw the beauty of spiders
their intricate web design
their ingenuity
and he had a newfound wonder and appreciation of spiders
then
for some bizarre reason but truthfully told
he stopped seeing spiders
everywhere
around his house etc.

so, for some reason this story REALLY resonated with me

seems like any time i had an issue with something
the universe would see fit to put it in front of my face over and over and over again
like it was just daring me with its frequency to get rid of the issue
at first i tried to deny it
but there is no denying

seems like when i have an issue
the universe will show me to what intensity/degree the issue is
this is manifest in the frequency of repetition
or how i react to it etcc.

also, seems like once i overcome some issue
i don't seem to see it blasting me everywhere
and if it is shown somewhere, i just don't seem to notice it

this is very interesting to me
anyone else have any experiences like this?

well i'll say that the converse is true
like if you are really happy or passionate about something
you tend to attract and meet other people who are just as passionate about
whatever it is you are attracted to ( health athletic endeavors etc.)

anyhow i was more interested now
in hearing from people who have had certain issues
and it seemed as if the universe was HELL BENT on not letting you forget you have an issue LOLsmiling smiley

until you work through it
it seems strange
that the universe would be almost surgically precise about presenting the same thing over and over again until you somehow work through it

bizarre
but true
and its a strange thing to take at face value
but its been my experience
for better or for worse

I no longer believe in karma but Law of Attraction. What you focus upon increases (shows up in your experience), hence the spiders. Whether you love something or hate it, it's all about FOCUS!

"Any idea that is held in the mind that is either feared or revered will begin at once to clothe itself in the most convenient and appropriate physical forms available." -Andrew Carnegie

However, Running to Denial and Pretending that the World is Perfect is NOT going to stop the needless suffering on this planet!!! Isn’t it interesting that only 3% of Americans actually fought during the Revolutionary War and that only 10% of the citizens actively supported that 3% and only 20% considered themselves to be on the side of the Revolution, but they did not actively participate?

“Revolution doesn’t have to do with smashing something; it has to do with bringing something forth. If you spend all of your time thinking about that which you are attacking, then you are negatively bound to it. You have to find the zeal in yourself and bring that out.” -Joseph Campbell, “Pathways to Bliss,” p. 104

In other words, we don’t want to be OBSESSED with those pesky spiders, but we can’t simple IGNORE them, otherwise, we might suffer needlessly.

same principle

as far as focus goes
yes, it is true that whatever you focus on gets bigger

its also true that even if you have ZERO focus upon something
but it is vibrating within your hidden subconscious /unconscious realm
and there is a high degree of charge surrounding it
the universe WILL bring it to your attention ( focus) FOR you

Speaking of Spiders, here’s something that I bet very few people know about…

In the classic fairy tale, the "spider who sat down beside her" does not represent an actual spider at all, but is rather an allegory for the Soviet stranglehold over western Europe. At the same time, the term "Iron Curtain" was coined by Churchill not as a reference to the political situation but instead as an imaginative (if bleak) description of a wave of North Sea Fancy Spider's washing up near his beachfront home.

i think its completely fabricated

especially the last one where it is said that black widows kill husbands of interracial marriages

and how a chronosphere spider can exist outside of time in order to avoid predation

if its true... well then.... i'll eat my foot!!

and i'll interview the chronosphere spider

I don't subscribe to the theory of subconscious stuff. It's usually conscious but constantly getting pushed down due to aversion. But I don't believe that anyone is truly not focusing on something and it's still there. The focus is so obscured that the person may claim to be unaware of it but it's still being thought of.

I don't see karma and LOA as "semantics." Karma always seems to carry a vibration to it that is somehow divorced from the person's intention or responsibility. So people might say "I guess it's just my karma" but they never seem to really think they created the situation but it just happened to them.

Regarding that last statement, then you associate Mind with negative thoughts. How so? I don't say mind; I say consciousness. And I know that it's a fluid situation. Sometimes we are in alignment; other times...not so much. But I love that I am AWARE and not just sleepwalking through life as when I was younger! Oh my goodness--to think of who I was at 18 versus 48winking smiley

What's with the New Age crap? It's a word-label and we cannot understand things by just slapping labels on them. If you had a negative experience with New Age in some way understand that it was just one experience and not to throw it all away because of it.

<<Also, maybe the person kept seeing the spiders because of his fear of them, kept him focused on them. When he stopped fearing the, he "let go" and now he either doesn't notice spiders all that much, or he isn't subconsciously looking for them (and the spiders looking for him).

I dont think (or dont know) if inanimate objects are included in the Law of Attraction.. or I'm not sure. But I think the real energy comes from living entities, and the "universe" that decides to give you what you are "attracting" are Other Peoples, or Other Entities, which align with your "calling". Whatever you are calling though because in this New Age universe, it doesn't matter, Suffering doesn't exist (yet it does).

I think.. the subconscious of others is what leads them to be attracted to your subconscious callings. Think of it like body language. The body language cues another's body for a specific goal.>>

yeah, this makes sense, the spiders were also "reading" and "smelling" his fear
so they kept popping up over and over again
they read vibrations subconsciously
and its a mutual dance

lesson to be learned from this : do NOT be afraid of poorly fed junkyard pit bulls when you are in their vicinity

are you meaning one must be aware of not making their mind go on "auto pilot"
hence manifesting a string of not so cool events?

yeah new age is just a word
and a label
doesn't really mean anything
except whatever specific value you assign to it
its just a buffet table
where you can take what you want and leave the rest
or never approach the buffet

no one will force something on your plate
without you literally picking up the tongs
and placing it on the plate

don't complain

That's one of the problems in our world today, people view others as "opponents" instead of everyone uniting and helping humanity achieve our optimal potential. Most people are greedy, arrogant, insensitive and violent, so they're always trying to "get ahead". Humanity would be so much more advanced and happy if we all worked together in harmony instead of fighting with and killing one another.

but sometimes being BETTER than your opponent does not necessarily mean being greedier, stealing more etc.

it is whatever significance you put on the word " better"

opposition is a reality

and it does exist

whatever that may be

so it does make sense to get on a higher field

to see things from a greater vantage point

that is being " better" than your opponent as well

the opponent could be anything

it could also be your own mind

being better means to expand one's consciousness

and navigate

accordingly

A guy made a deal with Death to take his soul when he died in return for vast riches. Death said ok here's your riches,I'll come for you when you're 75 years old. When the time came and the guy saw Death coming he dyed his hair and dressed up to look like his own son. Death asked his wife where the guy was. His wife said he wasn't at home. Death said ok, since I can't get him tell him I'm taking his son.

I don't know if that's karma but there's a moral in there somewhere smiling smiley

I would not call it karma.
Life is a school, you will repeat a particular course until you can master it
And the teacher is always with you and grading you.
Like a mother and her baby, the mother is never far
The walking lesson takes many falls until it is learned, then it becomes second nature and the baby moves to the next.
You cannot move to the next grade until you are done with the current one.

"..though He is not far from each one of us.
In him we live and move and have our being.."
Acts 17:28

It is a very lovely story about the spiders La_V, especially the way you tell it.

I also like CommonSenseRaw's post, although I would call it karma. To me, karma is the significant learning tool, wielded by the school of life.

Here is my karma issue, and of course it could be all in my head but: I've noticed that often when I've looked down on someone for having some kind of issue, that same issue happens to me.

It's definitely caused me to pause before judging others.

Funny thing, I can't really remember any specific instance, but I do remember to pause (much of the time anyway - maybe not all the time yet).
