Pine Nuts! WFM

Date: January 17, 2014 08:07PM I bought some pine nuts from WFM last night because they were not as expensive as they have been. I was in a hurry and did not look at the place of origin until today! China! holy crap that sucks. Don't buy them they are nasty rancid looking cr@# and I would never buy them again. Re: Pine Nuts! WFM

Date: January 17, 2014 10:23PM Pine nuts are one of those nuts that are often implicated as rancid. Plus they cost an arm and a leg. I am lucky to have an indie health store that stores all their nuts in the fridge but they are not very close to me. Live and learn. (P.S. Trader Joe's sells them, too. Wonder what they're like...) Date: January 18, 2014 12:54AM US pine nuts, as a crop, are in big trouble due to plague and climate change which is threatening many tree crops.
Where I am, in the Midwest, it's my black walnuts trees I'm worried about. Many are starting to show signs of stress. Crazy weather is throwing everything for a loop. 15F here with a snowstorm on the way and today I saw a robin. Re: Pine Nuts! WFM
