Fresh, you did absolutely nothing, in any way, shape, or form, to discredit super foods in any way whatsoever. Not even close. Only from your delusional perspective because you cannot fathom something about raw foods being true if you didn't read it in 80/10/10.

1.) Some super foods are expensive and some are not, this is completely irrelevant regarding the scientific evidence proving their health-promoting effects.

2.) You posted ONE study that was sponsored by a supplement manufacturer and then now are attempting to use that as "evidence" that ALL super foods are tainted and that all the scientific research (even one's without affiliation to anyone) do the same thing. It's pathetic, it's not even worth my time to discuss this any further.

3.) All you did was show that calcium can help reduce copper toxicity and tried to claim that means spirulina isn't a super food. Apparently you're vastly misinformed about spirulina, as that's not why it is a super food.

I'm not offended in any way by your posts, you make petty, irrelevant sarcastic comments because that's all you have. You don't use logic, evidence, or rational thinking. You cannot afford to pay for super foods which makes you jealous of anyone who can and can also reap the benefits from them, so you like to live in fantasy land and claim that it's all a fraud so super food companies can make money, even though there are thousands of scientific studies proving otherwise (all paid off, right?). You're off in the head, literally, something is wrong with you and this is easily understood by the way you post. Not because you're misinformed about super foods, but because of the way you conduct yourself and your "rebuttals". Ignorance is bliss. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with an imbecile any longer. Good luck on those dates and bananas, CYA.

We say supplements are dead, refined, and "inorganic" and can't be used by the body, yet there are an enormous amount of randomized, clinical, controlled trials that have shown that they are not only absorbed and utilized by the body, but have been beneficial and resulted in improvements in health and growth. And that’s with controlling for other variables. Should we just close our eyes and ignore this and/or pretend that it doesn't exist? Children do that. Not mature responsible, intelligent people.

just so we understand ourselves here.

calling someone powerliar is BAD
and calling someone an imbecile is OK.

got it.

you might consider that you are overidentifying with your diet, and a dispassionate discussion about superfoods is threatening your identity.

And why do you keep talking about dates and bananas?

do you want some?

Do you people actually read the studies or just the summary?

The above study claimed in vivo and in vitro positive anti-cancer effects of chaga.

If you look at the study you will see

1. the purification process of the mushroom from russia consisted of all kinds of processes like centrifuge, chemicals, cooling down to -20C, etc.

2. The study showed some action against "cancer cells", but also 20% action against normal cells. And above 300ug/ml it was HIGHLY CYTOTOXIC against NORMAL CELLS. Better be careful with your dosage!

I suspect you could use the purified components of fruits or veggies and get the same effect.

I am seriously not impressed.

Most are not interested in reading about the anti cancer properties of chaga.
That is too exotic a food. We are the local food folks. We eat tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, lettuces, ...Food that is always available at the next block.

We want a normal fun life, not worry about fighting a cancer we do not have in the first place.

We are not impressed with your research results.

Fortunately, reality isn't based off how impressed people get smiling smiley Super foods are superior at preventing and fighting disease, boosting brain power, boosting athletic performance, detoxing the body, preventing aging, etc. Highly potent, highly condensed nutrition. This is in conjunction with an 100% raw food diet.

I think like with any other supplements or diet plan, its best to have superfoods suited to your needs.

Pine Pollen for example is a great source of phyto-androgens which makes it a brilliant choice for males over 40 years old, who may have estrogen dominance as a result low testosterone/dhea levels. All of the plant pollens are brilliant for nourishing the overall endocrine system, in particular the adrenal glands through the rich B complex vitamin content.

Reishi and the medicinal mushrooms all have proven immuno-modulatory effects so they might be helpful for someone fighting cancer or who has a weak immune system for example.

The algaes such as chlorella and spirulina i find to be helpful for those looking for a natural chelating agent to detoxify toxic heavy metals.

Adaptogen herbs such as korean red ginseng, schizandra berry etc for supporting/balancing the body in times of stress and increasing adrenal gland ouput.

There is thousands of studies on korean red ginseng and its various beneficial properties.

The liver tonic herbs such as milk thistle and bitter herbs such as gentian, dandelion etc id class as superfoods and are great for supporting liver and gallbladder health.

Spices such as turmeric, cumin, cinnamon etc are also great for health and typically have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial properties, amongst other benefits.

I've said before that they are not necessities but rather to further bolster and maintain optimal health. They can also be used by people looking to heal and cure from disease or disorders. I can't give an answer on "top 3" super foods because I do not know all of them. For example, I just learned about Ashitaba yesterday.

Mine
1. bee pollen (one teaspoon per day)
2. kelp tablet (Nature's Way - one per day)
3. spirulina chlorella (Thor's Hammer - 10 per day)

The last two, I am trying them now.

Id say they were excellent choices and sensible dosages also. Bee pollen is such a great natural source of B complex vitamins and is the richest plant source of pantothenic acid(Vitamin B5) probably why its so good for supporting the adrenal glands and increasing energy naturally.

Kelp is a very good food for providing bio-avaiable iodine and other trace elements, which are hard or impossible to get from land plant sources alone.

Organic wheatgrass powder or barleygrass is a good general nutritive as is nettle leaf tea. Nettle leaf also has many general tonic benefits such as supporting the adrenal glands, thyroid, liver and kidneys. I prefer these to algaes for general day to day nutritional support, but algaes such as chlorella are better for detoxification.

I take several super foods daily but in order of importance to my health, IMO, I find these the only indispensables. I only buy now from here because it's just the best I've found by far...

1. Laminaria Digitata (my favorite kelp by a mile)

2. Dulse

3. Alaria

4. Wild harvested Nori

Same here, I don't know why more people don't do this, it's extremely easy and you're getting the freshest, highest-quality grass that's being consumed very shortly after it was harvested.

right! because the body is incapable of healing itself !

nevermind what the cause is!
keep doing what you're doing!
take a superfood for what ails ya!
check those studies first though.

because regular foods don't contain ANY nutrients! in fact,

why not JUST eat superfoods, that way you can be super duper healthy?

What do you know, fresh not making any sense again...

"because the body is incapable of healing itself" followed up by "because regular foods don't contain ANY nutrients!" with the usual pathetic sarcasm and putting words in other people's mouth's. I can't recall a time where I ever said 'regular' food doesn't contain nutrients. You must be breatharian, since the body doesn't need any nutrients from any foods and can heal itself on its own.

They have no living water. They are dried.

No "living" water? I wouldn't want to live on super food powders either, they're just powerhouses of nutrition being added into a 100% raw diet. Why consume them? Anti-aging, anti-oxidants, improved brain function and well-being, more nutrition, detox, further protection from disease, etc. Whenever I take raw, wildharvested camu camu powder, my vision becomes clearer and more vivid within minutes of consuming.

The body is 80 percent water, eating dried food and drinking water is not the same as eating 80 percent water content food.
The 80 percent water content raw food is vastly superior to any dried food you can find.

Obviously if you take any fresh fruit and compare it to the dried version of that same fruit, the fresh fruit is always better. But tell me where you're going to get fresh mangosteen, fresh camu camu berries, fresh goji berries, fresh chaga/reishi mushrooms? There is no such thing as "living" water. Besides, if you're eating store-bought fruits and vegetables, those are not fresh. They are picked unripe, weeks old, and depleted in nutrients and enzymes by the time you consume them, not to mention high in tannins which bind to minerals in the body.

You are exactly correct.
That is why more than 60 percent of my food is sprout
I get my food from the growing trays into my dishes.
So powders are not all that important except few things I cannot get indoor.

Another superfood I find necessary these days, being down wind and downstream of Fukushima fallout is Terminalia Arjuna. It is loaded with good clean calcium.
