Date: April 26, 2014 02:14AM i got a jack la lane centrifugal juicer to juice hard stuff about maybe 1 or 2 years ago ( didn't ever keep the receipt etc. )
well, just today i was juicing some asparagus stems and broccoli stems and it would NOT go through the asparagus i might add were cut into 2 inch pieces and they were lying on their side and so then i kind of pushed them a bit more forcefully than i normally do well... then the motor stopped it just DIED on me i am kind of upset by this that should not be all that it takes to make the motor die but die it did other than going through the rigmarole of the manufacturer etc. how do i resuscitate this juice machine? it works great on stuff like beets broccoli asparagus etc. like i said i don't have the receipt not even sure when i bought it so i feel like i'm kinda on my own on trying to figure out how to fix this any juicing motor mechanic saavy techy people out there? give me a holler ! i want some more delicious nutritious broccoli asparagus juice help make my dreams come true smiling smiley! thank you in advancce Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke

Date: April 26, 2014 02:46AM Usually these things automatically shut themselves down when they overheat. If there is no restart button on the bottom sometimes they just need 10 minutes to cool down and then will work again.
If it's really broken it probably isn't worth repairing. Usually the blades are shot in a year anyway. The replacement parts are usually way overpriced and the shipping and repair costs are too crazy. Besides, if you get a new or reconditioned higher quality juicer you will save a lot of money on produce and get a better warranty. Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke

thanks!! you are right... guess i needed to wait for the motor to cool down it works now.. yaaay! raw practicalist its a good juicer only for the hard stuff (imo) like broccoli asparagus cabbage beets but not for the soft stuff like spinach etc. (it works for those items but it doesn't wring out all the juice like a double auger blade machine does) Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke

Date: April 26, 2014 06:45PM LaV, how are your finances? Can you afford to buy a new one? If so, sorry to be a broken record but I recommend the Omega 8006. It's a single auger masticating type. It has a 15-year warranty, which should tell you something. I had the centrifugal type and it left wet produce, was very loud and hard to clean. Yes, you have to cut up the produce more but so what? It is slow and therefore very quiet and doesn't oxidize the juice the way my old juicer did. Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke

Date: April 29, 2014 12:34AM Yes, I read that it was working again. Congrats. However, I am curious why you even use a centrifugal juicer. I had a couple that left wet pulp, oxidized the juice, was super noisy and that basket was hard to clean. What is the up side besides it's quicker? Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke

In the distant past I used an Omega and a Acme juicer like that. I used the paper strip filters which made clean up more tolerable but I practically had to drink the juice as it came out of the spout to get it oxidized. These days I have in my raw vegan arsenal of juicers, (for when I am lazy or pressed for time), a Breville Juice Fountain Elite which doesn't oxidize the juice nearly as fast and it's nice to be able to throw a whole head of celery and cucumbers into it without having to chop anything up. I save the soggy pulp in the fridge until I have time to press the rest of the juice out of it. All of these centrifugal juicers blades get dull pretty fast - if you're lucky they stay sharp for about six months. The old-fashioned blades run $20 -$30. The Breville's is around $45 or $50 because it's permanently connected to the mesh screen. Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke

i use the double auger for soft stuff like greens i use the centrifugal for hard stuff cuz its a lot faster and like suez says, i don't spend all day chopping stuff up it is actually pretty quick, painless, fast clean up no probbie bobbie Re: HELP APPRECIATED my juicer broke
