I clicked on your link which lead me to this site: [oilpulling.com] which has some more info on oil pulling, however I didn't find any published peer reviewed research on the practice, which would have been nice. A chemical analysis of the oil spittle would be great to determine if it contains toxins removed from the body. Considering that the mucous membrane in the mouth is highly permeable, and that some drugs are administered sublingually (under the tongue) due to the high permability of the blood vessels under the tongue, it seem reasonable that extraction of chemicals from the bloodstream could also occur by oil pulling. That website [oilpulling.com] recommends using cold pressed sunflower or sesame oils. I wonder if oils that are both cold-pressed (no trans fats) and refined (filtered) would be best as they might have the greatest capacity to absorb, through diffusion, toxins from the body.
