Date: December 12, 2014 06:50PM Long chain omega-3's (EPA/DHA), selenium, zinc, iodine, and iron. Iron is the least concerning of these amongst raw vegan diets but is still deficient in the diets of many. Re: If you were intent to prove that a raw vegan had imbalanced minerals, etc+

Date: December 12, 2014 06:58PM Have you gotten your levels tested, JT? What did you ask for? Re: If you were intent to prove that a raw vegan had imbalanced minerals, etc+

I would opt for a SpectraCell test instead of a blood test and would ask for essentially everything to be tested for. Re: If you were intent to prove that a raw vegan had imbalanced minerals, etc+

Date: December 12, 2014 07:34PM Okay, cool. I am going to ask for a script for a test at my next yearly. Do you know how much that costs? Is "spectracell test" commonly known, like would a testing lab know what it is?
I'm curious about iodine as well. I dislike eating seaweed but greens powder with seaweed and other greens mixed in is okay. I'd also be curious about the results of someone who eats greens versus not and one who eats fermented foods versus not (I don't.) Date: December 12, 2014 08:08PM It is easy to fall prey for the mineral imbalance theories that abound the internet. Most of the time, the problems are metabolic and hard to put on words. Basically, we don't know sh%t and we are monkeys playing around. When people fix their metabolic complex problems they usually feel great in a much greater scale than fixing a mineral deficiency. Date: December 12, 2014 08:13PM I'd probably get a complete blood panel first and if had problems maybe fork out the $600. Re: If you were intent to prove that a raw vegan had imbalanced minerals, etc+

Date: December 12, 2014 08:30PM It is very hard/expensive to diagnose yourself. I would seek help. But if it helps, you could look for other tests here (before you make up your mind that you have a mineral problem):
[www.lef.org] (kidney-metabolic test, hormonal test) But don't forget about the cheap basics like, D3 (weak), Iodine (cold), Zinc (weakimmmune, etc) Re: If you were intent to prove that a raw vegan had imbalanced minerals, etc+

Date: December 12, 2014 08:34PM yes, I don't have any symptoms of anything/any problems and very muscular, active, and fit. B12 was tested a year ago (at 12 years vegan) in the high-mid range. Re: If you were intent to prove that a raw vegan had imbalanced minerals, etc+
