Acidic / alkaline producing foods

I would like to find out more about the theory of acidic / alkaline producing foods as well as see a list of these foods. The lists I could on the internet all conflict with each other and provide no references at all. While the theory makes general sense, I would like to read up on it in more medically reputable sources.

Thanks.

If medically reputable people knew about this theory and would test it out scientifically then I think we could eliminate a good 75% of diseases.

In order for the theory to make sense though one has to accept that raw food is the optimum diet. Unfortunately most medical people either don't know or don't accept it yet.

It does seem that the acid-alkali food lists conflict a bit. I was told that this was a good one:

(Base being another word for alkaline, positive numbers are acid, negative numbers are alkaline, 0 is neutral)
