Date: December 25, 2006 04:38AM I have acne, but don't want to use medication to treat it. I'm currently on a raw food diet. Any suggestions of natural remedies or dietary habits? Re: acne

Skip the cooked ones, just use the ones that are still in the shell and uncooked. But you still might have a problem with the uncooked ones. Some people react badly to nuts. >larabars I'd skip these. Too much processing. >purified and spring water*] sodium content might be a problem >carob >creamed honey I'd skip the the carob, even if it's raw, it's still highly processed. I don't know what "creamed" means in the nutritional sense so I can't say. >cinimon >nutmeg >small amounts of vanilia extract (less than a teaspoon @ a time) These are not much but they are probably highly processed. >olive oil >olives* Really raw would be better, most of them aren't. >spirilina I'd skip it for the very high sodium content and the B12 analogues. I'd try a few days of only raw fruit, raw veg, nuts in shell that you shell just before eating, and avocado. Don't use any salt. Read labels on your water to determine if sodium content is high, if it is, find another brand. You might do better if you skip the nuts for a few days. If things improve, you can gradually add one type at a time back in. But I'd still elminate the cooked ones completely. Going on a drastic elimination diet will be tough but it might be necessary to figure out which foods are the ones that are worst for your skin, and you can add back in one different type of food at a time every few days or so. It isn't necessary to be so restrictive all of the time-=just long enough for you to figure out which foods are ok and which aren't. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
