Hey there,

My question is in the topic. What is the best way to transition?

Thanks!

If you can do it overnight, that's wonderful!
But you want to make it sustainable so sometimes
too much change at once can lead people to regress.

I recommend switching to a vegan diet first, whole
foods if possible, and over time increasing the amount
of raw eaten and decreasing the cooked.

Taste buds need to adjust and too much change at
once for the body can be stressful on it. Your body
will want to cleanse. It's best to ease in to the cleansing
process. Detoxing all at once can be rough for some.

Tip: explore new foods and find new favorites to eat to
replace the more unhealthy favorites

One thing I would suggest (for everyone, not just for you) is to get one of these and learn how to use it ...

Sometimes things can seem to be going along well but that doesn't always mean you are not inadvertently undergoing damage you are unaware of - even if you are paying strict attention.

Herbert Shelton said that Fasting is the best preparation for a better way of life as you don't put new wine in an old container.

Unfortunately, the Chemical Revolution has made Water Fasting dangerous for many people, so it's best to Modify a Water Fast by drinking a gallon or more of Vegetable Juice a day for the appropriate length of time, which for most people over 40 would be around 3 months or so.

Indeed, there is a VERY good reason why Fasting is mentioned in the Bible 74 times as it allows us to CONTROL those things that are CONTROLLING us, especially the WRONG FOOD!!!

Anyone who is on meds should make sure there are no adverse interactions between those meds and the new foods you will be taking in much more of. Raw foods are potent - especially when you take them in concentrated forms - and may require more knowhow to be safe with than you or any self proclaimed gurus have. Better safe than sorry.

RasIndi, I just read this wonderful article on a website that was mentioned in another thread on this forum:

[www.sunfood.net]

If you check on this website, there are different sections with recipes, how-to articles on making great dishes, articles about ingredients, about different topics concerning vegetarianism, veganism, raw veganism.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Raw vegan for life. Vegan for the animals. Raw for my health.
I had always been a big salad eater but when I made the transition I made them gigantic. They are my main meal, taking about 45 minutes to an hour to consume. Sometimes I have two of them in a day, if I get a really delicious bunch of salad vegetables. The quality varies, but on the good days it is really a treat.
I also started eating fruit salads. I eat as much fruit as I want with a handful of nuts/seeds.
I have a blender, a food processor, and a juicer, but none are fancy. Total outlay maybe $120 for all three. I also have a saladacco. But I use a julienne peeler more often than the four of them combined.
I do not use superfoods and I never eat raw vegan junk food. I feel decadent if I use a tsp of fresh coconut meat. My only supplements are B12 and D.
I track my intakes at cronometer.com. You don't really need to do this but it might be helpful for the first few weeks so that you will learn more about what food contains what micronutrients and have some insurance against developing deficiencies.
They are for me. I don't know how people get joy from eating 10 heads of romaine as a monomeal.
For me there is joy in the variety in colors, flavors, and textures. I like to put 30 or more different types of plants and non-sweet fruit in mine. It's very decadent if you ask me.
I post my meals occasionally around here. I always like to see what other people are doing for their salads, too.
30? That's a lot!
If you enjoy them, by all means!
I tend not to get too fancy. I enjoy mono fruit
meals and ice creams.
Just do it, the sooner the better. I would try with maybe a 3 day fruit fast.
Then ease into it. The reason I say this is so many women and my moms friends have done this and thanked me eternally for the weight they have lost in three days and vibrancy. I think it may be extreme, its what I would do. Its all the fruit you can eat. Whats the big deal. Dateorade orange juice watermelon juice and maybe zucchini marinara.
WHen I went on raw foods 10 years ago or so it healed me completely from a lifetime previously of unable to live.
