"I will be PM'ing Prana and asking him to delete my account as I've come to realize (for quite a while) that this message board is simply a joke and an injustice to the raw food community. So much anger, bitterness, negativity, insulting, disrespect, unprovoked defensiveness, dogma, close-mindedness, etc. If this is the type of environment others wish to partake in, that's their choice, but it's certainly not for me. I have much better and much more important things to do in life than to engage in pointless conversations with the aforementioned characteristics of those on this message board. I was guided here for many reasons and now I must leave for different reasons.
Farewell."

2 weeks later......

Prana !!! you didn't delete my account!

Waahhh!

I have a compulsion to come back here and post!

I just can't help myself!

It's your fault Prana!

sincerely,

Temp.

Give me a year to go over your request and I'll get back to you on the matter.

I have all my paperwork which confirms what I am telling of. I don't care what you think of me not giving it to you. You have proven yourself to have zero qualifications to even understand such things, poser. Those who ARE qualified have told me I was consuming too much sugar. I stopped that diet and now my blood sugar is fine. The Hashimotos hasn't changed. Only the sugar intake has changed. Period.

why are you posting a response that i put there for jtprindl, and then commenting on it as if it were for you?

anyway, who told you that, Robert Lustig?

as i have said before, fruit does not cause prediabetic status on its own.

and by the way prediabetic status can go on for 10 years with nary a problem, so hardly an emergency as you imply.

if you recall, i said, organ dysfunction/ dietary error.

that includes overeating (of too much sugar in any form).

you are doing what works. nothing wrong with that. it's merely where the blame is placed that i see over and over incorrectly. i know that's not your perspective. fine.

as far as hashimoto's i would simply surmise that there exists a diet of fruits and veg (whatever that percent of fruit might be) that could be done healthfully, without resorting to oils and such. but there is nothing wrong with you doing what you think is best. of course. i merely debate ideas here.

Because I didn't know it wasn't me you were addressing as you combined several unattributed posters posts together some of which were I guess were not attacking me. With your general scattershot attacks it's pretty much a one size fits all sort of thing. Sorry I wasted more of my time responding.

how could it be a waste?

making small inroads into correcting my numbskullery is a noble profession.

how's that for phony self effacing humor?

Oops! I didn't realize I posted twice about my test results. My computer is acting funny as usual (or maybe it's me). This thread is pretty amazing, considering it started out with just sitting down and standing up!

Oh well. Never a dull moment here at rawfoods.com.

ooh, now we have a guarantee!

you would be a boon to the medical profession.

think of all the time and money you could save people.

like an amazing kreskin. do you have a crystal ball too?

or, wait, is that malpractice instead? what a great nutritionist you must be.

jtprindl,

I had a great idea...

why don't you list all the regular posters names here and tell them if they have nutritional deficiencies?

Well, out of curiosity, I showed this test to my husband and asked if he could do it. He said "Of course"!

Right.

Well, maybe. He's 56, a vegan since 1986, a vegetarian since 1976, a construction worker, and strong. He has a yoga practice but not quite as frequent or advanced as mine.

So I said "Show me".

Him: "How many times?"

Me: "Just once."

Him: "Just once?"

Me: "Yes, that's all you have to do it. Just once."

So he stood up, crossed his feet, and with no use of hands whatsoever, he sat down, then came back up again - several times in a row!

He said, "You're kidding... I do this all day long with my tool belt on!"

Whatever else a person might say about this test, the results could be an indication of our level of regular physical activity. And this is IMPORTANT for more than just longevity. The blood we pump goes everywhere through our bodies, including our brains.

By the way, my husband is the smartest man I've ever met.

very cool, suncloud.

by the way the test (for anyone who actually read it, instead of commenting without reading it) is primarily touted to be accurate for those who do very poorly on it, likely leading to falls, etc. i have not seen the data myself so i do not know the validity.

it's your job. didn't you take an oath as a nutritionist?

This test is too easy!

Try doing it with only 1 leg!

LOL! Could you do that John Rose?!

I tried doing it with 1 leg. I could sit down without using my hands, but I couldn't stand back up again (using just one leg). Maybe with practice...?

(Lots of practice!)

with both legs is easy if you se your arms to balance the weight. Going down on one leg and then getting up is OK. But standing up with one leg from a laying down position looks hard. Look on youtube for one legged people. There may be tricks winking smiley

Hi Panchito,

Sounds like you're able to rise on just one leg. If so, I'm impressed!

Hm. After standing up on one leg from lying down, maybe the next harder thing would be to do it all blindfolded (and keep our balance). cool smiley

I was 16 years old and I was paid to play basketball, I was really good. Not tall (183cm) but very good, fast and jumping high. I could not then stand up like this video asks...I was never that elastic. This was many years ago...I could 'dunk' the basketball, but I could not stand up as this 'death test' is asking...

Hey Panchito, I went to the link you posted. Good video! I want to do this, but I don't have the strength. Maybe next year! smiling smiley

My husband could do just one for now, but I'm sure he could do more soon if he practiced.

The sidebar videos also included this other video (just one minute), where the guy is standing up from lying down - over and over again. And toward the end, it's even more intense.

Hi rab, of course you know this already, but....it's not over! There are many things I couldn't do at 16 that I could do at 36, and many things I couldn't do at 36 that I can now do at 64.
