Grocery List

Wow, um. I've been a raw foodist for a while now. Its been a loooooong hard struggle. Looking for a great grocery list to stock up on. I have no idea about B12 and amino acids etc... I just really concerned about getting all the nutrition i need that i don't think im getting from my limited options. If you have a really great nut or something to toss into my list, let me know.

Mine is something like this (for one person):

4 large heads of romaine
2 bunches spinach
7-10 lbs turnip greens with turnips (really cheap where I live)
2 lbs strawberries
1 lb blackberries
blueberries when I can afford them
1-2 lbs of cranberries when in season
12 oranges
8-10 apples
2 lbs grapes
a large pineapple
other fruit when in season
3 lbs onions
2 bunches scallions
1 bunch Italian parsley
5 or more lbs tomatoes
3 lbs carrots
2-3 lbs zucchini or yellow summer squash
occasional florida or california avocado
soymilk, about a gallon per week
sometimes dried beans

various quantities:
walnuts
brazil nuts
hazelnuts
almonds
flax seed
pumpkin seed
sunflower seed
Bariani olive oil
various vinegars
nutribiotic rice protein powder

supps:
NOW foods methylcobalamin 1000 mcg (2x/week)
Country Life D2 1000 IU (1x/day)

garbage:
burritos, sometimes, tortilla chips, a little bit of popcorn, sometimes dark chocolate. I am not the 100% virtuous type. I do cheat occasionally and have a cooked meal now and then.
beer, light domestic
coffee, about 3/4 decaf 1/4 light roast regular
green, white, and red teas

hi-i just joined this site.i can say thanks for such a good question. i just turned into a raw foodist this week.i too,did not know what to get at the store.i got a book called sproutmans garden kitchen.i dug out my food dryer and have yam chips and beets chips drying.i have no idea of what kind of dip i can use with them.i have been juicing for a couple of days.it feels good.i bought winter wheat berries and they are soaking and so are lentils.soo??so far so good. but ??who knows-there is alot to learn.i really appreciated this question.

Avocado is great for making a dip for your yam and beet chips. You can make a standard guacamole with lemon juice, tomato and garlic and spices if you want. Or blend avacado with red bell pepper and a little chili.

I shop with a food co-op. Staples to me are almonds, cashews, medjool dates. frozen strawberries, carrots, unsweetened coconut, sunfloweer seeds, sesame seeds.

You can make great almond, sunflower or sesame milk by soaking 1/2 cup nuts or seeds in distilled water, blending on high speed, and straining the milk out.
Then blend the milk with frozen bananas and dates for a great smoothie.

thank u everyone for the tips.i did try my yam chips and beet chips last nite. i was wanting to try them out-i just cut a tomato up and scooped them up with the chips.it was very tasty.i am jucing for the next few days...and no other foods.i keep trying to get bad stuff out of my cupboards.thanks conni for the great question.all very helpful.
