teflex toxicity?

Date: January 10, 2007 10:26PM It seems like teflex sheets would be just as off limits as teflon pans due to toxicity. Is there a good alternative? Plain old parchment paper from the health food store maybe?

Date: January 10, 2007 10:48PM Yes, that's what I use, parchment paper. I've always been afraid of more plastic in the dehydrator than need be esp. what touches the food. I didn't know about the metal sausage maker before getting the Excalibur but, believe me, when I can afford to, I'll be getting that one to replace the Excalibur. I really do not trust plastic! <g> Re: teflex toxicity?

dehydrator are safe to use. The PFOA chemical only becomes dangerous when exposed to high temperatures, such as on a frying pan. The low temperatures of the dehydrator will not cause a problem. Natural Cellular Defense removes the teflon PFOA chemicals from our body. Dr. Gabriel Cousens writes about testing people for PFOA before and after using Natural Cellular Defense. "Thirty-two people were tested for Teflon and Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), the carcinogenic element of teflon. Teflon was found in the livers of 27 people, the breasts of 25 people, and the brains of 28 people. All but two people became teflon-free after one week. Only one person had Teflon remaining in the breast, and one person had Teflon remaining in the brain. In the same 32 people, initially PFOA was found in the liver of 28 people, the breast of 29 people, and the brain of 28 people. After one week, all people became PFOA-free except for one person having PFOA remaining in the breast and brain." Mike Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/11/2007 01:12AM by Bryan. Re: teflex toxicity?

Not sure if that parchment paper is any better since it is "silicone" treated. Didn't they ban silicon breast implants in women and now just re-introduced it to the market? Hmm. There doesn't seem to be a better choice. Therese Re: teflex toxicity?
