superfoods are super concentrated sources of nutrients or those with super healing elements.
examples are green powders, bee pollen, algae, wheatgrass or other grass juices, etc.

spirulina falls into the algae/green food catagory. there are lots of super foods. goji berries, maca, etc. they aren't neccessary but some people really enjoy them.

The recipe calls for 2 dessertspoons of superfood. It sounds like a powder. If so, it sounds like it comes from some company. Maybe Nature's First Law? I don't know. Just a wild guess. I've never bought any powder superfood. Taylor, who published the book? If it is from Nature's First Law (NFL), or somebody using their products, then NFL is where to look to find that specific superfood. Like Mike and cooc said, there are various kinds of superfoods. Sounds like the one in your "cook"book is a processed product - a powder.
