what do spices do that's not good?

What do the spices to that's not good? If I use fresh herbs from my herb bed, or grind my on mustard powder and make a viable "mustard" is this going to provide the same negative effect I've been reading of some people using pre-dried spices such has garlic powder, onion powder, chili-powder, etc. etc.

The spices are what often help me in things like giving up dressings on salads.

I've seen people saying spices are bad but I haven't seen an explanation why that I can understand yet. Thanks for the help.

i think alot of people find them to be a gastrointestinal irritant ..

i make my own garlic powder and its never bothered me ...i find using that alot better then dumping salt all over my food (salt-a-holic i am)

other then that if they dont bother you , use them for now until you dont feel the need to use them anymore smiling smiley

1, the irritant issue as mentioned is a problem with the entire digestive tract including the tastebuds and stomach, etc

2. the fact that food quality is determined partially by taste - if you add spices, then you remove your body's ability to guide you to the right high quality foods at the right time.

3. you don't need to give up dressings. there's many dressings that are easy and tasty.

Spices are known to be benificial body but spices are suppose to be eaten in small quantities. Some people don't like it and there is nothing wrong with that. Spices are not meant to be eaten by itself. They are very powerful like beets. Many people eat a lot of spices because there bodies become accustomed to it, like how some people have to start with 1 oz and work up to more for wheat grass. If you like it eat it. Do what is best for you. One size does not fit all.

I use spices except for black/white pepper. I avoid vinegar if possible. I love cayenne pepper.

My body doesn't react to most spices so I use them. Sometimes, garlic doesn't muscle test strong so I don't use it at that time. Otherwise, I use what I please outside of the black/white pepper as they are carcinogenic according to what I've heard.

Good luck.
