Yes, I got an e-mail from a Codex group last night-- I posted it on the 'health-related off-topic' forum here. Basically, the senators passed the bill unamended, so that Big Pharma gets a lot stronger and alternatives are much more vulnerable. No protection for DSHEA, paving the way for Codex harmonization. Sadly, they don't care at all, apparently, that they're ripping off the public by not regulating the outrageous prices of medicine and medical practices that are causing so many people in this country to go bankrupt. I've been a democrat up to this point, but frankly, I'm fed up with them now too. From what I've seen, all the promises of the democratic party have pretty much come to naught, and they've become so centrist and are so tied to the corporate lobbyists that they're not accomplishing anything for the people.
