I don't see why not. I just got some already-ground organic oat bran today (Bob's Red Mill brand off Amazon.com) and just tried it for the first time about an hour ago and just love it. I just added water and a little Yukon (sp) syrup and just love it. I tend to avoid grains, but so many seem to do well with the raw oats and I'm going to check this out and see if it can work for me.

Have you verified Bob's Red Mill's product is actually raw, i.e., not steamed?

At my local health food store I purchase Raw oatmeal. It is called Steele Oatmeal. You need to soak it over-night...it expands a little. I then warm it to 100 degrees on the stove and add my flax seed and raw sugar. It is VERY good!

I think oats are better sprouted. It's probably not a good idea to eat them raw due to the enzyme inhibitors. But it might be ok in very small quantities.

Try and sprout your oats first, if they sprout they are raw (they are easy to sprout).

If the don't sprout, they are not raw. I get the feeling that your "organic oat groats" are not really raw (unless they specifically say they are raw).
