RAW food and Candida?

Date: May 20, 2007 04:24AM Few months ago I started having bad digestive discomfort issues every time I would eat something. This was before switching to RAW when I was eating too much sugary crap and grains etc. I started doing raw food couple weeks ago and have had significant relief from my problems.
I have pretty much deduced my problem is caused by severe Candida overgrowth since I check out for all the symptoms caused by Candida. My question concerns eating fresh fruit. Does fruit sugar also promote Candida growth or is it only refined, processed sugars?? I used a bunch of agave nectar today and my symptoms got worse within a few hours. I am pretty much only eating fruits and vegetables and a few nuts here and there. Does this mean I have to stop eating fruit altogether if I wanna eliminate the Candida problem? Any Candida cure success stories here? I am willing to try anything to get rid of it as it is causing a lot of distress in my life. This is why I went raw in the first place, hoping it would cure my digestive problems. Thanks for any helpful ideas/suggestions! Re: RAW food and Candida?

Date: May 20, 2007 12:08PM Dr. Graham promotes a high fruit/low fat diet to get rid of candida. He has seen people with chronic candida heal in a matter of days when eating this way. His website is www.foodnsport.com. He also has a forum over at vegsource.com. Best of luck to you. Love, Tammy Re: RAW food and Candida?

Date: May 20, 2007 06:25PM I had candida as cooked food person. I went raw it disappeared, I am fruitarian now, I can't say I feel unhealthy at all. I feel good. I eat only fruit, sometimes sweet fruit all day long. Re: RAW food and Candida?

I think I have a really bad case of Candida. I have been raw for two weeks and still have some issues with it but hopefully it will disappear in time. I am avoiding agave nectar for a while for sure since I'm pretty sure it feeds the Candida. Re: RAW food and Candida?

Date: May 20, 2007 06:48PM Could try including some cinnamon with each meal, its supposed to increase insulin sensitivity.
Also I was just reading salicylate can help reduce fat-induced insulin resistance ( [www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] ). So maybe drinking some white willow bark tea would help. Willow bark contains salicin which is converted in the body to salicylic acid. These two things would help increase glucose uptake into your cells so that its not available to feed the candida. Also, regular exercise will help improve insulin sensitivity. The low fat approach sounds interesting. Re: RAW food and Candida?
