Himalayan Salt - does it smell bad??
Posted by: emilym ()

Hi everybody,

I finally bought some Himalayan salt at my HFS this week, it's red-ish in color, and it says on the package it is "Hunza Type". I opened it up, and it has a strong sulfur-y kind of smell (it does say un-sulfured on the label). The smell kind of reminds me of asofetida, if anyone is familiar with that. The taste is salty, with a strange sulfury-asofetida element.

Is this normal? Is it an aquired taste?

Thanks,

Emily

Thanks for your reply, Earthangel.

I'll take it back and see what I can get that smells better!
