I think most of the chef types make it out of completely different stuff

chickpeas..even sprouted can be hell on digestion because of their killer protein/starch combo

I heard rawvolutions is good. you can order that..I think

Zucchini Hummus is fantastic. I like it better than traditional.

Blend a zucchini, tablespoon tahini, herbs of your choice (rosemary or basil are really good), a little olive oil and anything else you might like such as sundried tomatoes. I love to add chopped olives. Yummy!!!

I've made wonderful raw chickpea hummus-- and awful, indigestible raw chickpea hummus. The trick to the wonderful stuff is to soak & sprout the chickpeas for several days and rinse them like crazy each day. Then I blend them with garlic, oil, lemon, tahini, and spices.

i prefer the zucchini version it is really good!!!!
2 zucchini (i don't peel but you can)
1 tsp of tahini ( more for creamier version)
dash of him salt
some fresh basil
few sundried tomatoes
mix up in processor
YUM...it is italian hummus

for something else i add a few slices of chipotle..or habenero's
they are really good in there too..
or parsley and garlic

oh and i have heard the trick with chickpeas is soaking them overnight ONLY and then using them asap for more digestable version....

good luck
