Date: June 14, 2007 03:05PM one of my friends asked me the other day if you could eat seitan without cooking it. (although i assume its been cooked before packaging) ....it sounds gross..but made me to 'hmmm'.....

Date: June 15, 2007 10:12PM Even if you don't cook the seitan (and assuming the manufacturer didn't cook it also), the the wheat protein that comprises the seitan is heavily processed and not alive. The main ingredient is gluten, and gluten is known to cause problems with a lot of people. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
