Date: June 21, 2007 07:43AM I've been having a bowl of strawberries, an apple and orange juice. There's some recipes for raw muesli going around that look great! (raw oats, fruit, gojis and nut milk).
You could make a fruit bar the day before and store it in your fridge- process dates, nuts, fruit, maybe a little cacao and press into a tin, refridgerate to set. Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 21, 2007 08:05AM la_veronique, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
For breakfast, if I'm not in a rush, I usually have lots of fruit (especially bananas) and sometimes a half avocado. Then, if I have time, I take myself and my belly full of fruit on a nice happy morning run. Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 21, 2007 08:40AM I used to make a sort of cereal by smashing up some almonds with the blender and add small pieces of apple and banana, berries any fruit.
These days I tend to just have fruit, pineapple is good in the morning. When transistioning it can be good to sort of try to re-create the things you used to like for breakfast. This is also quite good if you chop up the larger ingredients or throw them in the food processor, throw some in a bowl then add Almond milk. Store the rest in an airtight container: 1 cup raisins 1 cup sultanas 1 cup dates 1 cup dried apricots 1 cup dried figs 1 cup pecans 1 cup walnuts 1 cup pumpkin seeds 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 cup sesame seeds, unhulled Phil. -------------------------------------------------- "Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it" (Chinese Proverb) Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 21, 2007 03:53PM I love to start the day with a big glass of OJ and lunch of a large fruit salad, sometimes with avocado in it, and almost always with 4-5 dates. When I do that I feel great, have tons of energy and zero cravings. Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

They're back in season now, I'm so happy. I'll be having fresh figs for breakfast every morning until they disappear again. Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 22, 2007 03:25AM The ones I buy are so tasteless - most fruit is ...... I guess it's picked long before it's ripe.
If you live in a fig-growing region, you'd be able to get tree-ripened figs ....... (sigh) Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 22, 2007 03:51AM Ive been buying the black mission figs from California the past few days (I live in NYC) and I've been really impressed with their ripeness. I know what you mean about that, last summer I was eating the round green (Calmyrna?) figs more because the black ones tended to be unripe. Maybe it's too early yet for the green ones, I've only seen the black ones so far. But they've been amazing lately! Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 22, 2007 04:02AM yep the cali-new york connection missions taste pretty vital (to me). a bit pricey but a nice treat here and there. If I lived anywhere near a tree I would sleep in the dam tree and sleep-pick figs for lunch (not big into eating before noon)
waiting for the green ones myself I would advise not eating nuts/seeds first thing..even when transitioning...a small ammount of fruit before oatmeal would sit better then 'museli' or whatever..just my opinion. spinach is an awesome suggestion...eating a bunch of greens will give mucho energy without taking away all the digestive drain of most other things. vegetable juice or small ammount of fresh OJ are even better. The few times I've had fantastic-tasting figs have stayed in my memory, so I am vicariously enjoying them with you! One day I'm going to live or stay so close to a fig tree, that I'll be waiting, hungry, ready to eat them as they're ripe. Yum, Enjoy! Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please

Date: June 22, 2007 05:02PM cantelopes and honeydew are great morning choices. Even commercial ones have their seeds and have a soft simple texture. eat more then 'normal' to stay satisfied for hours
watermellon (in the quantity I like to eat) usually only works for me in the afternoon or evenings after lots of physical activity. berries are great morning food, although not very filling for those with large caloric needs/desires apples and banana would be better as a mid morning snack or as a lunch meal. especially in the begining, its good to start the day with lots of water. water with lemon and/or juices. and continuing to eat/drink water rich things throughout the day. this will ensure not needing to add bottled water with meals etc...thus creating a great pattern for optimal digestion/rest. evenings are great for the denser things. avos/nuts and then more water if needed hours later in the late evenings. Date: June 22, 2007 07:51PM I like juicy fruits in the morning: melons, oranges, etc. It helps me rehydrate after sleeping. But typically I don't eat before noon. And recently, my first meal of the day has been red seeded watermelon. Yum! Re: Help with Raw Brekky Ideas Please
