Dehydrators and the Environment...

I don't own a dehydrator (yet) and was wondering how much power they use in contrast to an oven. Since some recipes call for 12-24 hour dehydration, that seems like a long time to leave something plugged in/on?

Thanks in advanced folks smiling smiley

I just got mine and haven't gotten an electric bill yet. I fire it up about 2x a week and try to keep it full, so as to utilize it all at one time. I tend to use it in the evening and then overnight. I keep it in my laundry room so it doesn't heat up the kitchen and the noise isn't bothersome.
