Date: July 11, 2007 04:03PM Hey Peps, I know its been awhile but I was wondering if anyone knew about the health effects of bruised bananas. I have currently been getting nanas in bulk form my local store, they're super cheap, but usually bruised and most undesirable looking from the outside. They taste excellent and are usually perfectly ripe but I constantly run into bruises. I've tried researching this topic, but with no Success. I know that bananas naturally bruise because the riping agent "Ethylene" continues to ferment the sugar until it turns into alcohol...But that’s all I can come up with. I was hoping that someone on this forum would know if its "safe" to eat Bruised Nanas. > Myspace: [www.myspace.com] > Blog: [chefdemocha.blogspot.com] Re: Bruised Bananas??

Date: July 11, 2007 10:53PM My great aunt has been eating bruised bananas for over fifty years, and she has never had health problems. Not saying that helps, but I usually eat them bruised as well, and haven't had any problems.
By the way, if you like a tasty treat, when you have an abundance of bruised bananas, break them up into pieces, and freeze them. After about a day, take the frozen pieces and put them in a food processor. After about 3 minutes, they whip into almost a yogurt. Mix with walnuts or strawberries and enjoy. Re: Bruised Bananas??
