Food dehydrator question (first time user)
Posted by: Anonymous User ()

Good morning everyone. I'm new to this lifestyle and like I said in previous post, I like it very much...Except now I love it!

However, I'm now at the point where I would like to try recipes with a food dehydrator. Problem is I've never used one.

My only question is safety. How safe is this? Most recipes want you to leave food for 6-8hours or even more. Is this like a slow cooker where you can set it, go to work and not worry.

Thank you for all your help.

Yes. It's absolutely safe. You can leave it on for days and days

Leave it at home!

We leave them on without fear - but anything plugged into the wall could potentially start a fire. If you feel confident in the quality of the machine, I wouldn't worry. We have two Excaliburs and have left them both running overnight and while at work, without any problems.

Peace,
K
