Is there something in nature to remove hair? Re: Natural hair removal

Date: July 29, 2007 09:56PM I love sugaring, it's easy, convenient and cheap. It's not nearly as messy as waxing and you can reuse the cloth strips, so it's eco-friendly.
Mamadeb - it's like waxing, but done with a thick (homemade) syrup of water, sugar and lemon juice. You can keep the leftovers and reheat it or thin it out as necessary. Re: Natural hair removal

I've had them go much further than I wanted to. But it does a great job of taking all the hair off. Re: Natural hair removal

Ugh, I just HATED being threaded. It hurt SO MUCH, just thinking about it gives me the shivers. Like getting bee stings on my upper lip. But other people might have a different experience. Sugaring is cheap but leaves my skin dry and itchy. Re: Natural hair removal

I use very few things on my skin, which my skin likes best. I don't know anything else that would work for hair removal.... Re: Natural hair removal

Date: August 01, 2007 07:15AM Actually, I do not use syrup.
I just use 1 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice to make the pasta. I am going to try brown sugar this time, and give it another go! Re: Natural hair removal

Date: August 01, 2007 12:44PM I use the sugar and lemon mixture too.
There's a certain ratio you can use which means you can skip using fabric strips- you just tear off strips off of the sugar mixture, and flatten it out on your skin, then in a few moments it goes hard. I use this version on my bikini line (when I can be bothered!) as I'm too lazy to do it evenly over my legs. I never ever get dry skin from sugaring. I always find it better than waxing and shaving (and using that awful foul smelly hair removal cream. Toxic death. Ughghhhh). When sugaring, always dust your legs etc with some sort of talc so it doesn't pull your skin Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
