Funny, never thought abt the blender. I use it at around 7.30, but they have been up by then anyways. Of course, weekends, I'll use it later.
They moved out and the unit below (duplex) is empty so the past days I took great joys in freely vacuuming early morning or late at night - because THAT's what I felt guilty about ....

i use greenstar
cuz it blends everything
it is more time consuming
and it has more clean up
but it tastes a lot better
and i don't have to add water or anything
it extracts the juice from the pulp though

my point is
if u don't want to wake up the neighbors
u may wanna think about getting one of those gear juicers
like champion or whatever cuz they "blend" ( but still separate fibers)

i personally like greenstar

but others might like other brands

they don't exactly "blend"

if u put the right blank in it
u can make it come out like a puree

there are different things that u can put in it

there is a thing for fruit ( bigger holes)
there is a thing for juicing veggies (smaller holes)

there is a "blank" that is just a hollow space

so whatever u put in there afterwards like nuts
comes out grinded

but if you put the hollow blank in there for fruits or veggies

it comes out like a "mush" like thing

u can get greenstar on line

they all come with various accoutrements so that u can get what u want

its like a champion juicer

but better ( i think)

yeah, they are mostly known for juicing

but it depends on what thing u put in it

the "blank" that i am talking about

is a double cylindrical plastic thing about two inches wide
about an inch in diameter

it has an opening that is rectangular

u fit that into the head of it

turn on the "on"

push your fruits or veggies through

and it comes out sloshy

it tastes better in my opinion

it does mostly greens well though

the fruit

don't put too many fruits

otherwise it gets too sloshy

but u don't ahve to use water

the flavor is outstanding

not sure why that is

possibly cuz i'm not diluting it with water

maybe

who knows

cool, thanks smiling smiley it`s not in my budget at the moment but it will be smiling smiley right now i`m just using a power juicer which does ok but the pulp is a bit too wet for my liking and it`s cyntrifical (sp) so the oxidation isn`t the greatest

I do - but I try to not.

Working midnights, I'm usually back from work at 2:30 (AM).

I try to not, because I don't think is good to eat and go to sleep.
During the sleep time the body rythm is slowing down.
Why to eat and to keep the food in my stomach to be digested much later?

I will rather get few bites of whatever I have in my frigerator.

Only if I could not eat (due to my work nature) in the last 6-8 hours, I will eat (its actually drink) (before to go to sleep) my pureed food - but not more than 1 cup, and to be more specific - only if my stomach is making a lot of noise.

2 SOLUTIONS FOR THIS PROBLEM:
============================

1) Build and use a sound insulating housing for blender - with enough room to allow the air to cool down the motor (base);

2) I plugin my blender in my car (parked outside) amd make the blends there.

I like to eat fresh, healthy (raw), and whenever I feel hungry. Sometimes I could not do this, being at work or away from home, traveling (driving) my car.

In order to have the conditions to eat the way I want, I hardwired a Power Inverter in my car (an oversized one, which can provide 2800 Wats/120V A.C.)
and I bring the Vita-Mix with me everywhere (with a cooler and enough water to wash the jar after i'm done "cooking" and enough for adding in my purees or juices I make.

Pretty soon I will buy one more blender (from Blendtech TM - 20 Amps power - [commercial.blendtec.com] ) and this way I will have one superblender at home (the 20 Amps one) and one (the 3+ HP one (Vita-Mix)) in my trunk all the time.

During the cold season, I will keep the water (piping hot) into a 2 liter thermal bottle - Stanley is making very good ones ( [www.stanley-pmi.com] ), providing parts and lifetime warranty for their products made from stainless steel and using charcoal as secondary thermal (and shock) insulation.

Pls. excuse my English - foreigner.
