Do you order produce online?

Date: August 06, 2007 11:07PM If you do, I was wondering who is the best to order from? I live in Jacksonville, Florida and it takes 45 minutes to get to the nearest farmers market and it is in a very bad neighborhood. I still go once a week but the fruit and veggies are mostly spoiled, and rotten.
They don't carry fruits and veggies I want like durian, young coconut, pomagranite (sp?) papaya, and others. So should I order this online, if so, what place would you recommend. Thank you! Re: Do you order produce online?

Date: August 07, 2007 02:36PM I can't give you any advice about ordering produce online, but one thing you might try is to find a good CSA. It doesn't look like there are a lot in and around Jacksonville, but you may find one that delivers or has a pick-up location that is easier for you. They all operate differently, so ask around to find the one that suits you. You may find the right CSA on this site: [http://www.localharvest.org/csa/]. You might also ask around your farmers' market if any of the booths there look good, but if the food there doesn't look good it might not be as local as you'd want.
It may be too late to buy a share for this year, but you should at least be able to reserve one for next year if you find a farm that you like. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
