Date: October 03, 2007 08:39AM I bought a package of dried figs from Costco. It lists potassium sorbate and sulfur dioxide as preservatives. Are these harmful? Re: Preservatives in dried figs

Date: October 03, 2007 11:12AM I think that chemicals in dried food are doodoo. I mean they are bad. Taste an apricot that has nothing but apricot then one of those flourescent orange guys and you'll know. Same with figs. I remember the first time I had my wife taste a dried turkish apricot ... she was amazed! Pure dried fruit doesn't look quite so pretty but tastes quite a bit better in my opinion.
