Eating Fast Food = Disease and Illness

When we consume too many acidic or acid-producing foods, for instance all fast food, meat, bakery products, processed food etc., the acid will corrode tissues and organs. Acid creates a favorable environment for harmful micro organisms and bacteria to grow that can damage glands and organs.

Fast food results in acidosis

The term for this over-acidification of the body cells is Acidosis. Acidosis will interrupt cellular activities and functions, which is a major root of disease and illness. If we consume foods too high in acidity, the entire cell system will be negatively affected.

Allergies (the absorption of undigested proteins due to an overly acidic body is a major cause of allergy conditions), osteoporosis, join pain, fatigue (an over-acidified body produces toxins and weakens the body’s ability to produces enzymes and hormones) and heart attacks can be traced back to acidosis. Chronic pain in various parts of the body is often a sign of excess tissue and cell acidity.

Important: neutral pH level

The reason for that lies in the realization that the body’s internal environment is more important on health than the impact of any micro organism. If the internal terrain is in an alkaline condition (the pH level is slightly above neutral at the pH scale, which is between 7.35 and 7.4), the exposure to even the most virulent microbes may not be able to cause diseases.

Conversely, if the internal environment is in an unhealthy, too acidic state, disease becomes inevitable. If the pH balance inside the body is thrown off, it loses its ability to assimilate essential nutrients, including vitamins, proteins and minerals. As a result, energy production slows down, the cells regenerate poorly and the body system struggles to produce enzymes and hormones that are vital to health.

Alkaline & alkalizing foods

To avoid such a decrease of the overall healthiness eating as much as possible alkaline and alkalizing foods will help to balance the body ph and get rid of acid wastes. Sunflower sprouts, flax oil, brown basmati rice, millet, soaked almonds, tomato slices, fresh avocado, vegetable soups or green vegetable juices, salads, freshly squeezed vegetable juices or powdered green plant supplements are a great way to fight the acidic internal environment.

All these foods offer a low carbohydrate and high fiber way to nourish the system with what it really needs to prevent us from acidosis. In this way, the excess acidity inside the body is neutralized, and enough minerals necessary for optimal cell function are provided.

Therefore, the key to real healthiness is to alkalize the body system by decreasing the intake of all fast food and processed food, while at the same time increasing the consumption of alkaline ones. In this way the body pH is balanced, energy levels will increase immensely and the body naturally drops to its healthy weight. Simply put: an alkaline diet restores health!

Alkalarian, is the chart correct in saying that most fruits are acid forming?
I eat a LOT of fruit... What now?

Every acid-alkali table seems to be massively different. See for example this one [www.saeure-basen-forum.de] which lists all fruits as alkaline (note that this table used negative (-) numbers to signify alkaline whilst the first table uses positive (+) numbers to signify alkaline).

The consensus on this forum seems to be eat what feels good to your body, ignore what other people or say!

Hi Rainforest,

of course, fruits are always good, and you should eat a lot of them. Still, many of them are acid-forming, so if you are a follower of an alkaline diet, you should definitely consider the acid-alkaline food chart.

Take care & good luck,
Mel

Ok, thanks guys. I feel good on fruit, but I'll try to increase the amount of greens in my diet just to see if I feel any better.
