Am I a time bomb?

Date: November 29, 2007 12:12PM I've been raw for 8 months now. I pretty much went in cold turkey--and maintain about 95-99%.
I had no ailments at the time. I've never taken medication for any extended periods. I was veg'n for 5-6 years before that. My question is: Where is the physical detox? I had some emotional cleansing to do--out of a relationship. Now that's through, and and I'm wondering... does it come up suddenly? I almost wish I had some noticable problem that went away on raw. Knock on wood--not really. I'm happier, and live more simply, and enjoy even what seem to be uncomfortable situations--all this is good. Anyone else just not really have much of a detox? measure twice, cut once. Date: November 29, 2007 12:16PM My thoughts: It is often an illusion that some people go 'cold turkey'. They have actually spent years preparing mentally and physically. Those folks usually have little or no problems making the adjustments.
-In any event, if raw is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to your goals....you will have no problem being motivated and 'disciplined' at a very basic level. -Besides Shaine, your questions are always intelligent.....and you are always supportive. I KNOW you will achieve all your goals. -David Z. Mason WWW.RawFoodFarm.com Re: Am I a time bomb?

Date: November 29, 2007 05:29PM i didn't really have much detox either. but i was eating fairly well before so... the body is an incredible machine, it's detoxing constantly. i don't think it's something that needs to be considered much unless you are very full of garbage and it's making you sick. detox happens constantly, especially if you are active. I don't know why I'm looking for pain/discomfort to validate being raw. Maybe these crazy thoughts ARE my detox... measure twice, cut once. "In Watermelon Sugar the deeds were done and done again as my life is done in watermelon sugar." ~r.brautigan I make paintings Re: Am I a time bomb?

Date: November 30, 2007 05:43AM I have a similar situation; i didn't go in with a necessity. We can just consider our selves luck, and look forward to a future of feeling the same good health by eating this way.
