hi there,

Eating plenty of alkaline and raw vegetables can result in new levels of wellness, energy and fitness. These simple rules are easily comprehensible for everyone:

1. More Green and Yellow Vegetables and Grasses
2. More Healthy Proteins
3. More Alkaline Green Food Supplements
4. Less Acid-forming Foods
5. More Alkali-forming Foods
6. More Alkaline Water
7. Less Carbohydrates
8. More Sprouts
9. NO Bakers or Yeast-containing Foods
10.NO Alcoholic Beverages

Follow these rules, and your health and energy levels will surprise you!
And don't complain!

Regards,
Mel

hmm, I don't think I could follow this acid/alkaline thing, fruits are too important to me and I don't eat any seeds or avocados, so there goes half the chart. Haha.

Hello

WOW, ive been told and have read that fruits are alkaline, and the sweeter the fruit the more alkaline.
Is that chart right ?
Also does it make a difference when the fruit is eaten -
If it is eaten on a empty stomach and is not combined with other foods then the fruit is alkaline ?

Oops, I hadnt seen the chart.

So, for protein, tofu and avocados?

I also thought that fruit, when eaten alone, is alkaline.

My last ph test of urine was 7.5 - does that mean I am too alkaline? (that REALLy surprises me, I was a low carber with loads of meat!!)

Tofu is not a healthy protien or food and should not be eaten on a regular basis.

All the protien your body needs is found in leafy greens, nuts and seeds. Protein is way overrated. Actually, if you ate one potato, that would more than
enough protein for the day.

Cheers.

Say no to rules!

Just kidding. Rules are good, but when it comes to food, I think we're best off coming up with our own (as a result of listening to others, reading, and self- experiment).

I eat all kinds of fruit, lots of it, all the time; and I never have a single problem from it. It's veggies that I really have to go easy on.

I would add the 'hidden' ingredient: conscious goal-setting, motivation & passion, & personal responsibility. It's the hidden mix that allows poor eaters to live a long time too! LOL.

I don't think so. The pH of the blood should be 7.4. I don't think you could eat a diet that gives you the exact pH you need - the body is very clever and can keep the balance for us.

There are so many different acid/alkali charts which say very different things about fruit, I tend to ignore them all and eat what makes me feel good.

Generally, ALL fruits are good, of course, but as long as you want or have to eat according to an alkaline diet, it's recommended to also check the potential of acidity or alkalinity for each fruit.

Totally agree with Rob.

Eat what makes YOU feel good.

Fresh vibrant fruit in abundance suits me (without worrying about charts and scales!)

This chart is irelivant. You cant just measure the ph of foods. A food is alkaline or acid "forming" based on what minerals are left behind after it has been digested. For instance, the juice of any citris fruit is obviously acidic if you were to measure it with litmus paper. But depending on what minerals are left behind it can be all alkaline forming. Ironically , Im pretty sure all citris fruits are alkaline forming.

the chart is not irrelevant at all, since each of the foods is assigned a number which mirrors its approximate relative potential of alkalinity (+) or acidity (-) existent in one ounce of food.

that is why it is definitely helpful for those living according to an alkaline diet.

the other thing that you guessed, but which was right, is that most citrus fruits are alkaline.

I agree with funky rob... eat and see what makes you feel good--- our

"gut feelings" (haha!!! pun intended) ---are there for a reason!!!

also I think just because a chart measures a food's ph doesn't necessarily mean that it measures that food's ph in our body-- just my thoughts!
