an all raw world?

This though popped in my head today.......
How do you think this world would be different if no one ate cooked food ever?
Its almost too big of a question, but imagine a world with fewer hospitals and factories!

I think there would be fewer cows and pigs which I'd like. There would probably be fewer people too, but those would be much healthier. So much you could add to this..it does boggle the brain!

Love,

The world would be a much, much, much brighter place.

There are a few lines on this in "The Essene Gospel of Peace, Book 1" (Szekely) which I highly recommend.

-No more enslavement and murder of animals...might perhaps herald an age where man does not murder and enslave man.

Yeah. No more torture and murder of innocent animals.
A very large part of the economy, specifically the corporate world: poof! gone!
No more overweight people.
No more type 2 diabetes.
Greatly reduced incidence of cancers.
People living longer.

Sounds good to me, except for the third worlders who depend on cheap grains and cheap legumes.

redstar,

What a great question.

In addition to what others have said..

There'd be far less pollution, cleaner water and air, and way way WAY more uncultivated wild land and forest. The water, land, and fuel costs of producing meat--and the pollution it creates--are huge.

also...
would the "holidays" be what they are now if food wasn't such a HUGE part of them???

i hate how most social events are centered around food!

no. gross.

fresh air tops my list. wow, to breathe in the sweetness of nature. aaahhh..

i think the holidays would be centred around the seasons, the solstices.

we would surely be nomadic, travelling with the sun for food sources. the population would be much, much smaller.

imagine if all the energy focused on food and food related lifestyle/illness was put to other use? whoa, that's huge...

Just my opinion, I think we should exclude marine life from "raw". Sushi should not be considered "raw food" :p.

Hey David, my wife reads over my shoulder and you're making life difficult here with these "ideas" winking smiley

If we weren't breeding cows we would have enough land to feed every person in the world. It is meat eating that is making us fight for land.

Yes. I agree with Pak. If we weren't killing and enslaving animals....and reserving vast tracts of land for that purpose....I think people would be healthier.....and more prosperous...in every way. Still...can't MAKE a person be more conscious...you know? Everyone has great opportunities to make those changes in their own lives. Just about EVERYONE knows what a vegetarian is! LOL.

"we would surely be nomadic, travelling with the sun for food sources."

I was thinking the same thing--we'd be either nomadic, all moving to a climate that could sustain us, or we'd continue with trucking stuff in from other places. I tend to think the more pure we get with our eating, the more we'd want to end things like pollution from trucking things in. Who knows what would happen--I'm up for witnessing it all, though! Bring it on! ;-)

Gypsy

Instead of hating the weeds on my front I would only pull them when they were going into a salad or smoothie. (Hey, could I do that now???)

The Weed Man would be planting weeds instead of spraying for them!

Fast fruit stands on every corner! Banana peels might become a hazard though!

An all raw world would be great but consider this: there are many raw foodists out there that still eat raw fish, eggs, meat and dairy and consider themselves 100% raw and thriving healthwise... not saying that it is right but they are out there and there are lots of them, and they swear healthwise they have never felt better (you'll find a ton of them on the Sunfood forum).

I think an all raw world would be a lot easier to enforce if we were all in hot sunny climates year round... its awfully hard to be 100% raw up here in Canada... I have been making vegetarian soups lately, with no ill effects. Perhaps an all vegetarian world would be more realistic.

I would not want to live in an all raw VEGAN world, I would not take the risk of missing out on some keys nutrients.

regardless of your belief that you can't meet your nutritional needs without the consumption of animal products, since this is a VEGAN site try to remember to RESPECT that. if you wish to discuss a Non-Vegan raw diet there are plenty of places for you to do so, continuing to do it here is, well, you can figure it out.

With the exception of B12, what key nutrients that can't be found in a raw vegan diet are you refering to? Are you suggesting that all raw vegans have some sort of nutrient deficiency?

I love the idea of an all raw vegan world...we can all dream right.

I am talking about myself, nobody else, I need b12 and other undiscovered nutrients from their natural source, I am not trying to offend vegans.
