Do any of you eat the skin on peaches?

I like peaches but usually eat then without the skins... was wondering if any of you eat the skins and if there is a benefit to eating them? Nutrition/fiber wise?
Thanks to all for any suggestions!
Sincerely,
joanna

Yes, I eat them skins on. I am not a big peach person but when I do eat them I never cut off the skin. If they are not organic (bad me) I will wash them carefully... I don't know the nutritional benefits of the skin... marblefox

I wash them and eat the skins...sure. Although it usually doesn't differentiate from the skin, you can look up nutritional values of raw peach here:

Yeah, I always eat the skin. With many foods, the skin is the most nutritious part, but I have no idea for peaches.

Thanks all! I like the skins so I think I will start eating them... thanks also for the website about getting the nutritional info, I'm hoping that maybe it has lots of fiber because- due to transitioning to raw foods I have been quite backed up! hehe! Thanks again everyone!

Oh, January here and nary a peach in sight. I would give a lot for a big fat juicy organic white flesh peach right now.

Sometimes I eat the skins, sometimes not. Depends on how lazy I am.

I used to be very hardcore about this

there are a couple of opinions

for me..the whole nutrion thing isn't much of an issue.

so if you njoy the skins...eat them

I found that not eating skins:

1.) made the process slower
2.) made the process more creative
3.) some fruits digest easier
4.) not good to worry about loss in any form unless you are frying or freezing or blending or breezing

just my opinions

This thread makes me miss peaches and nectarines (which I actually like better). But I'll be good and wait until summer. No organic ones available now.

I peel them if they are really ripe and the skin comes off easily. If it doesn't want to come off I don't force it and eat it as is. It depends on the peach!
