Date: March 02, 2008 11:24PM I finally found some of this today (I'm NOT trying at the Asian/ethnic markets again where they give me dirty looks....sorry for asking where something is! )
I love it - I see it's mostly water, but whatever, it's a good snack. I also put it on my salad earlier. [utopiankitchen.wordpress.com] Re: Jicama

Date: March 02, 2008 11:42PM I just ate the whole damn thing, but admittedly, my appetite is wild today. The lime juice, chili, and cilantro sound good - anything with cilantro is good to me! Re: Jicama

Date: March 04, 2008 04:05AM I just tried something recently that is similar to jicama only much sweeter, called yacon. Anyone here tried it or heard of it? Also called ground apple. It was so yummy! I guess yacon syrup is a popular sweetener. But the root itself was so great, I'm going to attempt to grow some in my garden this year.

Yeah, it's great isn't it. I sell it in my online shop. I thought it tasted a bit like a cross between dried apple and dried pineapple! Date: March 06, 2008 03:30AM If you have any hispanic grocery stores, they normally have it there. The stuff at my co-op and Whole Foods is conventional anyway, so that's where I usually get it from. Re: Jicama
