sorry if this has come up before.
i suggested to my friend that she feeds her 6 month old baby mashed avo and banana. she seemed interested in this. are there any sites about raw baby food with recipes? google didn't come up with much.

They don't need recipes. Just get a baby food grinder (or I suppose, your blender/food processor) and mash things up.

Depends on their age... at 6 months most babies will do well with most fruits and veggies--but usually the veggies are cooked (I've heard some doctors wait until a year for strawberries to avoid allergies, don't know if that is traidition or true), just intro them slowly. Sprouts I would wait on, seem hard to digest. When the baby can go past puree, things like grapes still need to be cut up--your friend probably knows this though

I am thinking it's the starchy raw veggies that would be difficult to digest, like sweet potato or anything else most people eat cooked. Greens would be kind of hard, maybe you could juice...just some various thoughts. I do work with babies so I'm not totally making this up winking smiley It's hard because the standard advice is not for raw, or even vegan.

also,if you go on rawfoodtalk.com and do a search on "baby food" there are a bunch of discussion threads on this very topic. here's one:

good luck! i had so much fun making baby food when my daughter was little. its so easy it really blows you away and you can't believe people actually purchase those little jars of food...

i used something like this: [www.amazon.com] and put frozen fruits like mango and banana chunks in it.

also gave this: [www.hylands.com]

those things worked great for me!
