Are seeds and nuts necessary?

Date: March 20, 2008 07:49PM I LOVE my green smoothies - I have two large glasses of one kind in the morning, a salad or fruit for lunch and 2 large smoothies of another flavour at dinner. I will usually have some fruit or a salada at dinner.
My questions, I feel great eating this way. Is it necessary to add seeds and nuts anything else other than water to my diet? I add home-grown sprouts to my salads - is this enough? I am not hungry and my energy level is great. Your thoughts? Re: Are seeds and nuts necessary?

Date: March 20, 2008 08:26PM I think on the long term you do need some fatty foods. They are necessary to absorb the fat soluble vitamins ADEK for example. Vitamin D can be a real issue for a raw vegan, depending on your sun exposure. Vitamin D and vitamin K are needed for good bone health, to mention one thing.
You won't want too much fat during cleansing times, but on the long term you will need some. Greenpower Visit my website and my blog! [www.natureshealingsecrets.com] (closed on Sundays) Re: Are seeds and nuts necessary?

Date: March 20, 2008 09:05PM I think in the beginning...in order to stay grounded....you may choose to eat nuts and seeds - yes. Later, you may not find them as necessary....or wish the same amounts. For my own experience, I have not eaten nuts or seeds in many years (other than the occasional swallowed watermelon seed....but what do you want?....it's an occupational hazard!).
