Date: March 27, 2008 12:07AM Help! I am really tempted to make steamed rutabaga tonight! This is my 3rd day completely raw. Except for the almonds that were roasted. How can I eat raw rutabaga?? Any suggestions? Re: Rutabagas

If you really want it steamed, then eat it steamed, though. That's my thought about it. Raw isn't about depriving yourself of what you want. :-D Good luck! Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXO Re: Rutabagas

Date: March 27, 2008 01:39AM I did finally eat it steamed. This is the first cooked food I've had in 3 days and it upset my stomach! I guess taste buds don't always lead you down the right path. Re: Rutabagas

Date: March 27, 2008 06:07PM I was just wondering if rutabagas were edible raw when I saw this post.
I guess they are. Are they loved by raw foodists in general? Re: Rutabagas

Date: March 28, 2008 01:25AM I LOVE rutabagas. Eat them raw all the time...in salads, julienned, or just as is. Mmmmm...Not as tasty when you cook'm, if you ask me. Even super lightly steamed, lose that lovely sweet/earthy flavor. I find that the ones 4" diameters or less tend to be sweetest. Don't know where I heard that but seems to be pretty accurate.
Never noticed any adverse digestive effects but we're all unique in that department I'm learning. ~lanie "Beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing lies a field. I'll meet you there." ~Rumi Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
