Date: April 02, 2008 07:20PM Hi there
We have recently increased our sprout intake due to protein deficiancy. We are eating about 3 cups a day(per person)either juiced together with apple, carrot, beetroot or in salads. The side effect is explosive and smelly. Am I doing something wrong here? Are there certain sprouts that cause less wind, is it only bean sprouts such as aduki, mung a.s.o. Am I eating to much sprouts to start with? Should one increase levels slowly? Thank you Love and LIght Marc Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/02/2008 07:21PM by nomade. Re: flatulent and sprouts?

Date: April 02, 2008 07:49PM well, what KIND of sprouts are you eating? this is like saying that you're eating fruit and it's giving you indigestion without specifying what fruit it is.
gotta say though, i would give that "protein deficiency" idea a second look. you may just be getting enough without binging on sprouts. Re: flatulent and sprouts?

Date: April 03, 2008 11:24AM All protein is broken down by probiotic bacteria in the intestines. I do not know the exact cycle, but eventually it ends up as flatulence. In the long run however, thed ifferent probiotic bacteria adapt and the effect should the negative effect should subside. Re: flatulent and sprouts?

Date: April 03, 2008 02:43PM I found limiting my sprout intake to 1 - 1 1/2 cups solves this problem.
But sometimes you grow a batch that's so yummy, it's hard to stop. >8) Re: flatulent and sprouts?
