May Never ..

I was thinking..

My dear friends offered me some Tobbler One Candy when we were at a party one day and I said I can't eat that and I didn't give it to my son either. They felt bad that we are left out. This got me thinking..

I may never eat my favorite Swiss Candy again
I may never eat chocolate ice cream again
I may never eat Tangy Indian dishes made with cream, yogurt, milk, spices etc
I may never drink Indian coffee made with milk and coffee and sugar
and thelist went on

But here's what I came up with in the end... By giving up all the "foods"mentioned above...
And I hope things will work in this waysmiling smiley

I may never go to the "Specialist" for testing my espohagus and intestinal tract for pre cancer cells or ulcers again.

I may never take "headache medicine" again and never have to suffer sinus headaches and migraine headaches

My husband may never have his "Allergies" again

My daughter and sons may never suffer from the stomach pains again

I may never suffer from acidity again

My husband may never take his "asthma" medicine again and all the inhalers again

God is good. I just wanted to share with you all.

Take care
A Iyer

> I may never eat my favorite Swiss Candy again

But you will enjoy the sweetness of fresh fruits.

> I may never eat chocolate ice cream again

But frozen raw milk/fruit/cacoa tastes so good!

> I may never eat Tangy Indian dishes made with
> cream, yogurt, milk, spices etc

But you can created new Indian dishes with nut milks, vegetables and spices.

> I may never drink Indian coffee made with milk and
> coffee and sugar

But you can create raw Indian drinks with nutmeg, cardamon, ginger, cinnamon and nut milks.

> and thelist went on

When one door closes, another opens. :-)

I'm a new living foods connosieur and for everything I liked "dead" I find excitement in replacing it.

Wow.
Powerful message.
And if I may extend this to beer....
I may never escape into its temporary 'answer' to everything again,
but I will never again lose whats most important to me.

A, I understand how you feel. It was a weird thing when an work associate of mine brought me home-made brownies and she thought that she was doing something great for me. Well, it was a lovely thought. I hadn't eaten sugar or chocolate in over 3.5 years and they sat about a foot away from me and the smell of the sugar and chocolate was so strong that I couldn't work. I had to run them down to another work associate that I knew ate that stuff. After the smell was gone, I was able to concentrate and get back to work. Even walking down the baking aisle with all the bags of sugar is overpowering to me now.

I never knew that I was having health problems due to sugar. It was only when I totally abstained that I could see the sugar addiction and ailment associated with it.

So, it is only the happy memories associated with the foods that are really precious to me. The food itself, I stay away from since it is detrimental to my health. Good for you that you could re-frame your thinking. Therese

There's lots of yummy healthy vegan indian food you can still have, for a treat, only once in a while.

When I think of things I may never eat again, I think... YEA!!! The memory of that one particular 2 AM steak and cheese sub laden with grease on a white bread... I shudder to think of that night. I felt as sick as I ever have felt in the Third World, but I was in a major American city. I think I have post traumatic SAD eating disorder.

I am so glad I don't have to eat another cheeseburger or any more fries. I am so glad I don't have to drink coffee. I am so glad I never have to go to IHOP again.

I love this way of eating.

I never have a problem with my co-workers. They are oftentimes jealous of my lunches. (Really. I work with adults. Who makes your lunch? YOU can make yourself a salad. YOU can choose to bring in a bag full of ripe fruit. It's revelatory for some and it confounds others. Poor dears.)

I love this food. smiling smiley

I used to get a foul taste in my mouth after some SAD meals. I think it was from the rancid oils. Yuck :=(

That "never again" feeling is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to make the 100% raw leap. I tell myself that I can have whatever I want, because I don't want to end up at war with myself trying to close a dietary door which I'm not truly ready to close. Sometimes I actually indulge. More often, though, I abstain because my tastes have changed and the things I used to eat are not tempting anymore. My latest "never again" thoughts:

"I may never find pizza appetizing again."
"I may never want to eat sugar candy again."

It was such a surprise when I plucked a candy from a bowl at work. Didn't these used to taste good? If I ever begin to doubt my newfound distaste I will try one, because otherwise I know my mind will begin to glorify the forbidden foods.

The hardest part in the body is the emotional part. The memory of some food that you had as a child,or the memory of the party and the candies that you had with your friends...
Two days ago I went to a Deli with my husband. It was morning and the smell of bagels made remember the french bread that I used to eat in Brasil every day.
I didn't think,I went straight and got a piece of the bagel and the memory came back like I was 10 years old again, and that was so good...but the feeling made came back with a stomach pain. After almost 3 years completly raw that bagel did a hypnotic number on me.Just weird !! My emotional body was so into the feeling that I couldn't stop and think. Very powerful thing.
