Date: April 26, 2008 05:15PM I'v been eating mostly fruits for my source of cabrs for about 2-3 weeks. I've noticed a serious down-fall in my strength. So yesterday I ate a lot of rice, and today I feel strong again. Re: Strength.

Date: April 26, 2008 05:44PM Switching to fruit forces the body to switch to an entirely different kind of 'slow sugar' metabolism." Until they have been eating very healthy for a long time.....many find themselves 'run down' on such a diet. However, this has much less to do with any inherent nature of man....and more to do with the fast, refined, simple carbs that most folks have gotten used to. Switching over to slower sugars is really one of the last barriers to eating healthy.....and is why many people still crave rice and bread.

Mason Hmm, but fruit is simple carbs & rice is complex carbs. As for me, I never felt particular strong on either a fruit or grain centered diet but to each their own. I'm kinda skeptical of the whole "instant strength/health/etc." diet. I've never found any switch in diet to give such immediate benefit though perhaps it does work this way for many people... like Popeye perhaps . Re: Strength.

community builder has a point there is nothing really 'INSTANT' food is just one of many tools in the panoramic vista of health all other areas must be worked and in alignment with intent but what we ingest or don't is a factor that cannot be readily ignored as well Re: Strength.

Here's an explanation from Wikipedia:[en.wikipedia.org] Re: Strength.

Date: April 28, 2008 11:30AM Opinion: Refined carbs are absorbed unregulated into the blood...and play havoc with the blood sugar, metabolism, etc. There are, of course, many other reasons to avoid refined sugars, flours, pastas, fiber-less rice.....but there is no need to discuss those. LOL.
-Fruit sugars tend to absorb rather slowly. When I last got my blood tested a few weeks ago...it was after a big breakfast of fresh orange juice....and my blood sugar was actually quite low. Fruit, in my opinion, gets a real weird rap for causing blood sugar problems.....or digestive troubles. Just my take. -David Z. Mason WWW.RawFoodFarm.com Re: Strength.

Date: April 28, 2008 05:33PM You feel weak because your body is using all it's energy to heal and clean you up, in the beginning a lot of the work is done behind the scenes without you noticing too much except that your more lethargic, the real disruption will come when you begin to cleanse at much deeper level.
Just ma ten cents! F1 Re: Strength.

I agree with F1 and add to what he said by saying that when you ate the rice you slowed/stopped the detox and/or healing process. Re: Strength.
