Which blender to purchase?

Hello all! I need some advice. I want to purchase an excellent long lasting blender to do all tasks (butters, smoothies, etc). I found the blindguru site after looking on ebay at vitamix blenders for some time. He is promoting a custom designed blendtec 20amp 240V 3+hp blender for $800. WOW! BIG Bucks! So I hear more positive about the vitamix line than any other blenders. I want the best, because I will be using this thing forever. I also hear about the waring Xtreme. I do not know who to trust and I have not owned any good commercial blender in my life. Any suggestions? Thank you Good Health and Prosper....

I started out with the Blend-Tec HP3, which the BlindGuru (or someone just like him) had promoted on a different website. It is a good blender. Before promoting that 20 Amp blender by Blend-Tec, BlindGuru had demonstrated and recommended the Vita Prep 3 over the HP3 and the Waring X-Treme with a Vita-Mix carafe over the Vita Prep 3. Based on that video, I purchased that combination and can attest that it is excellent. Based on the words of Wheatgrass Yogi and others, the Vita Prep 3 is also excellent. I cannot see the need for the 20-amp blender unless you are preparing smoothies for large family all in one blending session.

Regards,

I appreciate the feedback. Vita-Prep3 seems like a good deal at around $300 from blindguru.

Be wary. You might get a Vita-Prep for that
price, but not a Vita-Prep 3.....WY

Wheatgrass Yogi-You seem to have extensive knowlege and I appreciate your comments. If you were buying a new blender, which would you buy and why? thanks again!

I own a Vita-Prep 3 and am pleased with it for
what I do. If I was going to buy a new Blender (and I might)
I'd call The Blind Guru at 1-800-390-4880 and talk to him. If
you decide to call, please let us know what he said.....WY

Has anyone purchased a L'equip Blender? They are only 150 bucks or so and get rave reviews. I'm figuring out which blender to buy, too, and am considering a L'equip since I'm a single mom and money is tight. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
