Not sure this is the right thread but can anyone tell me if Omega 8003 augurs wear out over time and need to be replaced? I use my juicer almost every day for vegetable juice and am finding recently that the vegetables aren't feeding through as efficiently; that a bit of the mushed up pulp even kind of backs up a bit. Examining the augur, I think the edges have become a bit smoother over time. Disappointing as I thought I took very good care of the juicer. If I do need to replace it, would the ultem auger of the 8006 model fit and be a good idea. Re: Juicing Greens in the Omega 8005 Juicer Video

Date: April 15, 2009 01:49PM I appreciate the prompt responses. The bottom of the juicer says it was manufactured in August 2004. I purchased the unit (barely) used from the original owner and will hope the warranty will extend to a second owner. Has anyone else had an auger wear out?

anyone ever juice burdock root? i tried some today with: burdock-carrot elixer burdock root with young leaves apple lemon carrots and it was quite good. ...liver cleansing bitter with the sweetness of carrot apple to balance it out. burdock tastes pretty good eaten raw if you peel the root and eat it. it can be dug out of the ground right now in colder climates where spring is breaking. leaves are bitter. a carrot burdock elixer would be tough to make in the omega. its just not strong enough to handle the tough rooty things. juicin' john Re: Juicing Greens in the Omega 8005 Juicer Video

I think it's best to leave the 'hard' stuff to a centrifugal or the champion. And of course, if you don't mind muscling your way thru a twin gear juicer. -rawie Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
